Christmas Origin (Truth must be told, we worship not the true God in Christmas)

WHAT IS EMMANUEL GOD WITH US, RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH ?
The date of Jesus’ birth has never been revealed to us. The celebration of His birthday is no where commanded for Christians to practice. Why is there so much fuss about a holiday which came to us through pagan Brumalia [The December 25 celebration], celebrating the shortest day of the year and the ‘new sun’? Its origin is in idolatory, paganism and Sun-worship, and was celebrated with riot and merrymaking long before Jesus came to earth as a babe in Bethlehem.
How did Christmas get into the Christian church?
This pagan holiday later crept into the churches, in the first five centuries, in spite of the protests of some godly pastors. It was considered idolatory to do this, since it was nothing more than a heathen day of worship. In addition, this day was selected in honour of Mithra, the Sun-god. December 25 was dedicated to the keeping of his birthday. The sun had reached its lowest angle in the sky on December 21 (the winter solstice), and the 25th was the first observable day in which it began rising in the noon sky. So, December 25 had for centuries, been celebrated as the ‘birth of the Sun-god.”
Is December 25, the Birthday of Christ?
It is well known among Bible scholars that December 25 could not have been the date of Jesus’ birth, because in Luke 2:8, we are told that the shepherds were keeping their flock by night out in the field:
Luk 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Now, considering the geographical position of the area, shepherds always brought their sheep in from the mountains and fields and sheltered them not later than October 15, to protect them from the cold rainy season that followed. (Songs 2:11; Ezra 10:9,13.) No shepherd in his right mind would be found outside tending his sheep by night on December 25:
Song of Solomon 2:11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
Ezr 10:9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
Ezr 10:13 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
What is “Christmas”?
The word “Christmas” and its tradition came down to us from the Roman Catholic Church, a term for “Mass of Christ” or “Christ-Mass”, which came to them not from the Bible, but paganism, where pagan calendars gravitated to Christmas. This December 25 “mass” must be attended by the faithful, under the penalty of mortal sin for not doing so. At this mass – as at every other, – Christ is offered by the priest in a wafer. The people are to worship this wafer as the true body, mind, and soul of Jesus Christ!
What about Santa Claus?
Old Saint Nick, one of Santa’s names, is a name for Satan. See “Old Nick” in the dictionary (Rev 17:15.):
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
The name “Santa Claus” is a corruption of the Dutch “Sant Nikolaas” (Sant-Ni-Klaus), and “Kriss Kringle” is from German “Christ Kindl” or “Christ Child.” So we have here a counterfeit Christ called, “Santa”, when unscrambled is Satan! He comes at night as a thief (2 Pet, 3:10; 1 Thess. 5:2):
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
At midnight (EW:285), dressed in white and red (Rev 19:13-14, Isa. 63:1-3):
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the wine vat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
Bringing gifts and rewards (Rev. 22:12):
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Knows if you’ve been good or not (Rev. 2:23):
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Sits and talks with children (Matt. 19:14):

Travels with reindeer on a sleigh (Rev. 19:11,14, Isa 66:15):
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Lives in the North Pole (Ps. 48:2):
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
Children tell him what they want, prayers (Matt.7:7):
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Santa Claus is not real, and we should not lie to our children! (Rev. 22:14-15.):
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Is there any wonder why later they question the existence of God? Teach them about Jesus Christ, their best Friend, their only Saviour, and the only one who can really bring them the gifts they need. Teach them the truth! Tell them that they do not need to wait till Christmas to receive His gifts; – they can and do have them every day: The gifts of love, salvation, protection, food, water, air, shelter, sunshine, rain, wind. The gifts of nature, scenery, animals and loved ones. To enjoy good health, and to have eyes to see them all, what more could they want, what precious gifts.
What about Christmas trees?
Green trees were cut down, mounted, and then decked with offerings of food and precious gifts to Mithra. “The Christmas tree is from Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long anterior to the Christian era.” –Frederick J Haskins, Answers to Questions. Even the Bible speaks about this pagan custom, see Jer 10:2-6:
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
How about the Mistletoe?
Among the ancients, mistletoe was considered sacred to the sun, and was used in December, winter solstice festivities, when the sun was lowest in the sky. Kissing under the mistletoe was thought to be an act of pagan solar worship. Very licentious and temple prostitution was performed during the eight-day Roman Saturnalia which immediately preceded December 25 sun-birth celebration.
What about Wreaths and Holly?
Circular wreaths of evergreen branches (especially holly) were a featured part of the festival. These were formed in the shape of the sun, and represented life which could not exist without sunlight, placing them on the inside and outside walls during these celebrations. At the time of initiation into the Dionysian mysteries, these were worn by the initiates as fertility symbols. They represented the perpetuity of existence through on-going cycles of life, death, and rebirth. The wreath with a candle in the middle has a sexual representation, as do most pagan symbols, that we will not even discuss here, but suffice to say that it has the same connotation as the obelisk in St. Peter’s square in the Vatican. Holly berries were also considered sacred to the Sun-god.
Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?
Should faithful Christians after learning the truth about Christmas and its pagan origin, still continue to celebrate it? Definitely not! The early Christians dared not accept pagan practices or pagan holidays. Those heathen customs could not be found in the Bible, so they ought to be shunned by conscientious Christians. What is more, no birth-day of any person need be celebrated:
In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his [Christ's birthday]. It is sinners [like haraoh or Herod] who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world.” –Catholic Encyclopedia, 11th ed., art: “Natal day.”
It would be more appropriate to observe the 7th day Sabbath rest day in honour of the finished Creation (Gen.2:1-3):
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The weekly Sabbath, most Christians wish to forget to observe, although there is an explicit command in God’s Word, the Bible, to do so, and even though the command begins with the words “Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy…” (Exodus 20:8-11):
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Most have chosen to substitute it with another day. How is it with you my friend, will you please God, or men? That is the question!
The most common objections to separating oneself from the Christmas festival will now be answered.
The objections that will be answered are:
1. Shouldn’t we convey the “true” meaning of Christmas during this time of the year?
2. If our heart-attitude is right then what does the origin of Christmas matter?
3. Did not Paul say not to judge one another in regards to holy days and religious festivals?
4. If we stubbornly abstain from the festivities of Christmas, how shall we ever win our families and friends to Jesus (for they will surely call us fanatics)?
5. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of such trivial things so why waste our time in our concern over it?
6. I know that Christmas is pagan, but where do I draw the line in regards to abstinence from certain things?
I. Shouldn’t we convey the true meaning of Christmas to everyone?
The above discussion establishes the true meaning of Christmas. Any meaning other than this meaning could not be called Christmas. Furthermore, to give any other meaning to the origin and meaning of Christmas other than the historical one would be deception. Also worth noting is that the early church had no record of celebrating the birth of Christ and there is no authority in scripture given to believers which allows them to celebrate His birth in this manner.
II. If our heart attitude is right, what does it matter if the origin is bad?
The scriptures such as II Corinthians 6:14-17 ,7:1; I Corinthians 10:18-22:
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Thus this displays evidence that we should not be involved in a mixture of anything that involves the mixture of truth with error. We are so quick to judge the cults for mixing truth with error, yet we allow ourselves to do the same thing. II Corinthians 6 exhorts us to keep away from that which is unclean and to separate ourselves from all forms of idolatry. The word of God demands purity in both our attitudes and actions, to walk in Spirit and in TRUTH. So you see that our heart attitude has got to be based upon truth or else it is the wrong attitude no matter how ‘innocent’ or ‘good’ it may feel to us.
III. Didn’t the apostle Paul say not to judge one another in regards to holy days and religious festivals?
Yes, Paul did say this in the 2nd chapter of Colossians. In the context of this chapter, however, Paul was dealing with Jewish holidays and festivals, not pagan or idolatrous festivals. We have seen that Paul has much to say about idolatry and the believer’s abstinence from it in all forms; therefore, in this context we see that this passage of scripture does not apply to our discussion. Paul does, of course, talk about eating meat sacrificed to idols, and says that an idol is nothing and that we should not raise questions of conscience about the eating of such meat. The logic of comparing ‘meat sacrificed to idols’ to ‘Christmas festivities’ is faulty and cannot be done honestly. In 1 Corinthians chapter 10, starting at verse 20 Paul writes: “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would notthat ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than her So you see, that the sacrifices that unbelievers make during the Christmas season are offered to demons, not to God. Paul exhorts us to not partake in such things.
IV. If we stubbornly abstain from the festivities of Christmas, how shall we ever win our families and friends to Jesus (they will call us fanatics)?
Whatever people may call us, fanatics, etc. you will be known as Christians, and in the secret consciences of men you will be acknowledged as such. How was it with the early Christians? They lived so separate from the world and it made such an impression that even pagan writers say of them, “These men win the hearts of the mass of people, because they give themselves up to deeds of charity, and pour contempt on the world.” If Christians would live like this today, the world would quickly be converted. To put the feelings of unbelieving relatives (they may be offended if we don’t celebrate Christmas) before obedience and sincerity before God is putting them in a higher place of importance than God. And Jesus has said, “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me…” (Matt.10:37):
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
V. The kingdom of God is not a matter of such trivial things as these, so why waste our time discussing them?
A Christian who fears the Lord will pursue the subject until he is either cut off from conforming to the world or cut off from God. It is not only Christmas, as such, but it is conformity to the world in general that is the great stumbling block in the way of sinners. How can the world be converted, while professing Christians are conformed to the world? The unbelievers may just as well ask, “What profit will it be to become Christians, when those who are Christians are pursuing the world with all the vigor that we are?’ “Born again” Christians are the laughing stock of many cults and secularists because of their ignorance in matters such as these. Separation from the world is not a trivial matter. It is essential for engaging in powerful prayer, which will bring forth the power and blessing of the Holy Spirit to convert the world. So you see, this subject is not trivial.
VI. I know that Christmas is pagan, but where does one draw the line regarding abstinence from certain things?
This final objection is the hardest one to answer, but here some jeneral guidelines that should be followed: The spirit of Christmas is a counterfeit spirit. It is a spirit of ‘false’ love and ‘false’ joy that the world enjoys during Christmas. This spirit is not the HOLY Spirit of God! For it does not lead the world to conviction of sin and repentance and it does not confess Jesus as Lord. It is a false spirit, a spirit :hat leads many to commit suicide during this season. Statistics show that the suicide rate is higher during the Christmas season than at any other time of the year. This is the spirit of the world, the spirit of the antichrist, who wishes death upon all men. The scripture refers to the devil as an angel of light and as the deceiver and counterfeiter. This spirit is prevalent in most evangelical churches during the Christmas season. It takes the form of Christmas parties, candlelight services, Christmas cantatas and the like. To be separate from this spirit is important.
FINAL COMMENTS
The facts that have been discussed should cause every true believer to doubt the godliness of the Christmas celebration. The scripture says: “for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23):
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Many things associated with Christmas require abstinence but the Spirit of God will lead as one asks for His guidance and His light. Why not try to help those who are being led into suicide by lying spirits during this season, to trust the Holy Spirit to lead you to such hurting people as these and to others who may be ripe for harvest. He will guide as one walks in the truth on this matter. Before ignoring this call of God to be separate from the world, heed His word to us… (James 4:4-5):
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
“Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the church … the first evidence of the feast is from Egypt.” (Catholic encyclopaedia 1911 edition) “There is no authoritative tradition as to the day or month of Christ’s birth … The winter solstice was regarded as the birthday of the sun and at Rome a pagan festival of the nativity of “sol invictus” was introduced by the Emperor Aurelian on the 25th December 274. The church unable to stamp out this popular festival, spiritualised it as the Feast of the Nativity of the Sun of Righteousness. When Christianity spread northwards it encountered a similar pagan festival also held at the winter solstice – the great Yule feast of the Norsemen. Once again Christians absorbed heathen customs. From the various sources came the Yule Log, the Christmas tree introduced into England from Germany and first mentioned in 1978.” (Chambers encyclopaedia 1970 edition page 530)
“Indeed it is admitted by the most learned and candid of writers of all parties that the day of our Lord’s birth cannot be determined and that within the Christian church no festival as Christmas was ever heard of till the 3rd century, and that not till the 4th century was far advanced did it gain much observance.”
How then did the Romish church fix on December 25th as Christmas day? Why thus:
“Long before the fourth century and long before the Christian era itself, a festival was celebrated among the heathen at the precise time of the year in honour of the Son of Babylonian Queen of Heaven: and it may fairly be assumed that in order to conciliate the heathen, and to swell the number of the nominal adherents of Christianity, the same festival was adopted by the Roman Church giving it only the name of Christ. This tendency on part of the Christians to meet Paganism half-way was very early adopted … upright men strove to stem the tide, but in spite of all their efforts the apostasy went on, ’till the church, with the exemption of a small remnant, was submerged under Pagan superstition.
That Christmas was originally a pagan festival is beyond all doubt. The time of the year and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated proves its origin. Santa Claus is not real, and we should not lie to our children! (Rev. 22:14-15.):
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Is there any wonder why later they question the existence of God? Teach them about Jesus Christ, their best Friend, their only Saviour, and the only one who can really bring them the gifts they need. Teach them the truth! Tell them that they do not need to wait till Christmas to receive His gifts; – they can and do have them every day: The gifts of love, salvation, protection, food, water, air, shelter, sunshine, rain, wind. The gifts of nature, scenery, animals and loved ones. To enjoy good health, and to have eyes to see them all, what more could they want, what precious gifts.
What about Christmas trees?
Green trees were cut down, mounted, and then decked with offerings of food and precious gifts to Mithra. “The Christmas tree is from Egypt, and its origin dates from a period long anterior to the Christian era.” –Frederick J Haskins, Answers to Questions. Even the Bible speaks about this pagan custom, see Jer 10:2-6:
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
How about the Mistletoe?
Among the ancients, mistletoe was considered sacred to the sun, and was used in December, winter solstice festivities, when the sun was lowest in the sky. Kissing under the mistletoe was thought to be an act of pagan solar worship. Very licentious and temple prostitution was performed during the eight-day Roman Saturnalia which immediately preceded December 25 sun-birth celebration.
What about Wreaths and Holly?
Circular wreaths of evergreen branches (especially holly) were a featured part of the festival. These were formed in the shape of the sun, and represented life which could not exist without sunlight, placing them on the inside and outside walls during these celebrations. At the time of initiation into the Dionysian mysteries, these were worn by the initiates as fertility symbols. They represented the perpetuity of existence through on-going cycles of life, death, and rebirth. The wreath with a candle in the middle has a sexual representation, as do most pagan symbols, that we will not even discuss here, but suffice to say that it has the same connotation as the obelisk in St. Peter’s square in the Vatican. Holly berries were also considered sacred to the Sun-god.
Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?
Should faithful Christians after learning the truth about Christmas and its pagan origin, still continue to celebrate it? Definitely not! The early Christians dared not accept pagan practices or pagan holidays. Those heathen customs could not be found in the Bible, so they ought to be shunned by conscientious Christians. What is more, no birth-day of any person need be celebrated:
In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his [Christ's birthday]. It is sinners [like haraoh or Herod] who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world.” –Catholic Encyclopedia, 11th ed., art: “Natal day.”
It would be more appropriate to observe the 7th day Sabbath rest day in honour of the finished Creation (Gen.2:1-3):
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
The weekly Sabbath, most Christians wish to forget to observe, although there is an explicit command in God’s Word, the Bible, to do so, and even though the command begins with the words “Remember to keep the Sabbath day holy…” (Exodus 20:8-11):
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Most have chosen to substitute it with another day. How is it with you my friend, will you please God, or men? That is the question!
The most common objections to separating oneself from the Christmas festival will now be answered.
The objections that will be answered are:
1. Shouldn’t we convey the “true” meaning of Christmas during this time of the year?
2. If our heart-attitude is right then what does the origin of Christmas matter?
3. Did not Paul say not to judge one another in regards to holy days and religious festivals?
4. If we stubbornly abstain from the festivities of Christmas, how shall we ever win our families and friends to Jesus (for they will surely call us fanatics)?
5. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of such trivial things so why waste our time in our concern over it?
6. I know that Christmas is pagan, but where do I draw the line in regards to abstinence from certain things?
I. Shouldn’t we convey the true meaning of Christmas to everyone?
The above discussion establishes the true meaning of Christmas. Any meaning other than this meaning could not be called Christmas. Furthermore, to give any other meaning to the origin and meaning of Christmas other than the historical one would be deception. Also worth noting is that the early church had no record of celebrating the birth of Christ and there is no authority in scripture given to believers which allows them to celebrate His birth in this manner.
II. If our heart attitude is right, what does it matter if the origin is bad?
The scriptures such as II Corinthians 6:14-17 ,7:1; I Corinthians 10:18-22:
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Thus this displays evidence that we should not be involved in a mixture of anything that involves the mixture of truth with error. We are so quick to judge the cults for mixing truth with error, yet we allow ourselves to do the same thing. II Corinthians 6 exhorts us to keep away from that which is unclean and to separate ourselves from all forms of idolatry. The word of God demands purity in both our attitudes and actions, to walk in Spirit and in TRUTH. So you see that our heart attitude has got to be based upon truth or else it is the wrong attitude no matter how ‘innocent’ or ‘good’ it may feel to us.
III. Didn’t the apostle Paul say not to judge one another in regards to holy days and religious festivals?
Yes, Paul did say this in the 2nd chapter of Colossians. In the context of this chapter, however, Paul was dealing with Jewish holidays and festivals, not pagan or idolatrous festivals. We have seen that Paul has much to say about idolatry and the believer’s abstinence from it in all forms; therefore, in this context we see that this passage of scripture does not apply to our discussion. Paul does, of course, talk about eating meat sacrificed to idols, and says that an idol is nothing and that we should not raise questions of conscience about the eating of such meat. The logic of comparing ‘meat sacrificed to idols’ to ‘Christmas festivities’ is faulty and cannot be done honestly. In 1 Corinthians chapter 10, starting at verse 20 Paul writes: “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would notthat ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than her So you see, that the sacrifices that unbelievers make during the Christmas season are offered to demons, not to God. Paul exhorts us to not partake in such things.
IV. If we stubbornly abstain from the festivities of Christmas, how shall we ever win our families and friends to Jesus (they will call us fanatics)?
Whatever people may call us, fanatics, etc. you will be known as Christians, and in the secret consciences of men you will be acknowledged as such. How was it with the early Christians? They lived so separate from the world and it made such an impression that even pagan writers say of them, “These men win the hearts of the mass of people, because they give themselves up to deeds of charity, and pour contempt on the world.” If Christians would live like this today, the world would quickly be converted. To put the feelings of unbelieving relatives (they may be offended if we don’t celebrate Christmas) before obedience and sincerity before God is putting them in a higher place of importance than God. And Jesus has said, “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me…” (Matt.10:37):
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
V. The kingdom of God is not a matter of such trivial things as these, so why waste our time discussing them?
A Christian who fears the Lord will pursue the subject until he is either cut off from conforming to the world or cut off from God. It is not only Christmas, as such, but it is conformity to the world in general that is the great stumbling block in the way of sinners. How can the world be converted, while professing Christians are conformed to the world? The unbelievers may just as well ask, “What profit will it be to become Christians, when those who are Christians are pursuing the world with all the vigor that we are?’ “Born again” Christians are the laughing stock of many cults and secularists because of their ignorance in matters such as these. Separation from the world is not a trivial matter. It is essential for engaging in powerful prayer, which will bring forth the power and blessing of the Holy Spirit to convert the world. So you see, this subject is not trivial.
VI. I know that Christmas is pagan, but where does one draw the line regarding abstinence from certain things?
This final objection is the hardest one to answer, but here some jeneral guidelines that should be followed: The spirit of Christmas is a counterfeit spirit. It is a spirit of ‘false’ love and ‘false’ joy that the world enjoys during Christmas. This spirit is not the HOLY Spirit of God! For it does not lead the world to conviction of sin and repentance and it does not confess Jesus as Lord. It is a false spirit, a spirit :hat leads many to commit suicide during this season. Statistics show that the suicide rate is higher during the Christmas season than at any other time of the year. This is the spirit of the world, the spirit of the antichrist, who wishes death upon all men. The scripture refers to the devil as an angel of light and as the deceiver and counterfeiter. This spirit is prevalent in most evangelical churches during the Christmas season. It takes the form of Christmas parties, candlelight services, Christmas cantatas and the like. To be separate from this spirit is important.
FINAL COMMENTS
The facts that have been discussed should cause every true believer to doubt the godliness of the Christmas celebration. The scripture says: “for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23):
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Many things associated with Christmas require abstinence but the Spirit of God will lead as one asks for His guidance and His light. Why not try to help those who are being led into suicide by lying spirits during this season, to trust the Holy Spirit to lead you to such hurting people as these and to others who may be ripe for harvest. He will guide as one walks in the truth on this matter. Before ignoring this call of God to be separate from the world, heed His word to us… (James 4:4-5):
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
“Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the church … the first evidence of the feast is from Egypt.” (Catholic encyclopaedia 1911 edition) “There is no authoritative tradition as to the day or month of Christ’s birth … The winter solstice was regarded as the birthday of the sun and at Rome a pagan festival of the nativity of “sol invictus” was introduced by the Emperor Aurelian on the 25th December 274. The church unable to stamp out this popular festival, spiritualised it as the Feast of the Nativity of the Sun of Righteousness. When Christianity spread northwards it encountered a similar pagan festival also held at the winter solstice – the great Yule feast of the Norsemen. Once again Christians absorbed heathen customs. From the various sources came the Yule Log, the Christmas tree introduced into England from Germany and first mentioned in 1978.” (Chambers encyclopaedia 1970 edition page 530)
“Indeed it is admitted by the most learned and candid of writers of all parties that the day of our Lord’s birth cannot be determined and that within the Christian church no festival as Christmas was ever heard of till the 3rd century, and that not till the 4th century was far advanced did it gain much observance.”
How then did the Romish church fix on December 25th as Christmas day? Why thus:
“Long before the fourth century and long before the Christian era itself, a festival was celebrated among the heathen at the precise time of the year in honour of the Son of Babylonian Queen of Heaven: and it may fairly be assumed that in order to conciliate the heathen, and to swell the number of the nominal adherents of Christianity, the same festival was adopted by the Roman Church giving it only the name of Christ. This tendency on part of the Christians to meet Paganism half-way was very early adopted … upright men strove to stem the tide, but in spite of all their efforts the apostasy went on, ’till the church, with the exemption of a small remnant, was submerged under Pagan superstition.
That Christmas was originally a pagan festival is beyond all doubt. The time of the year and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated proves its origin. In Egypt the Son of Isis, the Egyptian title for the Queen of Heaven, was born at this very time, about the time of the winter solstice.” (The Two Babylons by Alexander Hyslop, pages 92 and 93).

A prophet's vision must come to past
You can see i have been reading like mad. I want to share with you some passages from Testimonies Vol 9 written in 1909 of events surrounding April 16- 18 that will blow even the unbeliever away. I have done some research and found on the internet, eye witness accounts to intersperse between what I have been reading .Testimonies for the church Volume 9 page 92 reads:
'While at Loma Linda, Calif., April 16, 1906, there passed before me a most wonderful representation. During a vision of the night, I stood on an eminence, from which I could see houses shaken like a reed in the wind. Buildings, great and small, were falling to the ground. Pleasure resorts, theaters, hotels, and the homes of the wealthy were shaken and shattered. Many lives were blotted out of existence, and the air was filled with the shrieks of the injured and the terrified."
Now noticed carefully this is days before this horrific Earthquake.
Independent reports from the eyewitness was recorded in history.This is what google engine search cough up.

There was no assurance of safety in any place. I did not feel in any special peril, but the awfulness of the scenes that passed before me I cannot find words to describe. It seemed that the forbearance of God was exhausted, and that the judgment day had come.

Testimonies for the church Volume 9 page 93 reads: The angel that stood at my side then instructed me that but few have any conception of the wickedness existing in our world today, and especially the wickedness in the large cities. He declared that the Lord has appointed a time when He will visit transgressors in wrath for persistent disregard of His law.
A Narrow Escape
The quake awoke G.A. Raymond as he slept in his room at the Palace Hotel. He describes his escape:
"I had $600.00 in gold under my pillow. I awoke as I was thrown out of bed. Attempting to walk, the floor shook so that I fell. I grabbed my clothing and rushed down into the office, where dozens were already congregated. Suddenly the lights went out, and every one rushed for the door. |

I asked a man standing next to me what happened. Before he could answer a thousand bricks fell on him and he was killed. A woman threw her arms around my neck. I pushed her away and fled. All around me buildings were rocking and flames shooting. As I ran people on all sides were crying, praying and calling for help. I thought the end of the world had come.

All night they huddled together in this hell, with the fire making it bright as day on all sides; and in the morning the soldiers, using their senses again, commandeered a supply of bread from a bakery, sent out another water squad, and fed the refugees with a semblance of breakfast."
Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 92, 93. (1909): Terrible as was the representation that passed before me, that which impressed itself most vividly upon my mind was the instruction given in connection with it. The angel that stood by my side declared that God's supreme rulership, and the sacredness of His law, must be revealed to those who persistently refuse to render obedience to the King of kings. Those who choose to remain disloyal, must be visited in mercy with judgments, in order that, if possible, they may be aroused to a realization of the sinfulness of their course.
This is only one account of how God reveal much to this little lady.I wonder why there is such an attack on her character and her message. Is the devil trying to prevent the inforrmation that this woman had from getting out.Is he trying to prevent the world from seeing the light .

26th Nov 1st Aniversary of the Truth and the truth alone
Sincerity Alone Will Not Save
Faith in a lie will not have a sanctifying influence upon the life or character. No error is truth, or can be made truth by repetition, or by faith in it. Sincerity will never save a soul from the consequences of believing an error. Without sincerity there is no true religion, but sincerity in a false religion will never save a man. I may be perfectly sincere in following a wrong road, but that will not make it the right road, or bring me to the place I wished to reach. The Lord does not want us to have a blind credulity, and call that the faith that sanctifies. The truth is the principle that sanctifies, and therefore it becomes us to know what is truth. We must compare spiritual things with spiritual. We must prove all things, but hold fast only that which is good, that which bears the divine credentials, which lays before us the true motives and principles which should prompt us to action.

[1 COR. 6:19, 20.] All should be very careful to preserve the body in the best condition of health, that they may render to God perfect service, and do their duty in the family and in society. {CTBH 52.3}
It is as truly a sin to violate the laws of our being as it is to break the ten commandments. To do either is to break God's laws. Those who transgress the law of God in their physical organism, will be inclined to violate the law of God spoken from Sinai.

7 years of tribulation.. a well conconcocted catholic lie most protestants believe.. gobble up. The Bible deals with this misunderstanding

Is there to be a 7 year tribulation soon? Is this a Biblical fact? Many preachers today call this seven year period the prophesied "great tribulation" that all of mankind is about to witness. Is this true? Can this be backed by Scripture? Or is this a lie of Antichrist and his preachers to hide the truth? Looking into the not so distant past we see some tribulations of mankind that appear rather intense. Could this be the prophesied great tribulation? Or are we to witness another time of tribulation? Take the holocaust of the Jewish nation for example. This was an intensely evil event almost everyone on earth knows about. Over 6 million men women and children were slaughtered simply because Satan was able to convince a few of his followers to kill them. An infamous period that has been burned into history for all time! One would think that this has to be the most Satanic thing mankind has ever done to his fellow man under the direction of the devil. Sadly I must say, this is not the worst that has ever occurred. Not by a long shot.

Most preachers today get this seven year tribulation prophecy out of Daniel and Revelation. Some even go so far as to split it in half declaring a three and a half year of tribulation on the horizon. What does the Bible say about all this? Are they correct? Or does the Word of God reveal something they aren't sharing on all this?
Revelation 13:5 speaks of this time of great tribulation as forty two months. "...and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." The forty two months of Rev 13:5 and the "a time, and times and dividing a time" of Daniel 7:25 actually equal the same thing. As well all know by simply reading a calendar, the 42 months of Revelation 13: 5 equals "3 1/2 years" Daniel describes the length of this great tribulation to be, a "a time" (one year) "and times" (two years) "and the dividing of time" (half a year ). Now just do the math. 1 year + 2 years + half a year = three and a half years, or forty two months like Revelation 13:5 describes it. It gets better yet! Revelation 12:6 confirms all this when it says that the church of Jesus would hide in the wilderness for exactly 1260 days. 42 months, or 3 and a half years actually equals 1260 days. Still, some will say that 42 months does NOT equal 1260 days because all our months do not equal 30 days each. What they fail to realize is at the time these prophecies were penned, all months in the Hebrew calendar were 30 days each. So whenever a month is mentioned in prophecy, students of prophecy understand it to be 30 days in length.
To further understand the forty and two months, or the time, and time and diving a time, that the beast will reign, we must first find the method of time the Bible declares for prophecy. God says in Ezekiel 4:6 "I have appointed thee each day for a year" And we also find the Bible acknowledges a month to be 30 days long. Because in, Genesis 7:11 we see the rain started on the 17 day of the 2nd month, and in Genesis 8:3,4 we find the water receded at the end of 150 days. Then it says the ark rested on the 17th day of the 7th month. That's exactly 5 months to the day. If we divide the 150 days by the 5 months you get 30 days per month. So 42 months multiplied by 30 equals 1260. And according to Ezekiel 4:6, that's 1260 years that Papal Rome would reign.
Historical records reveal the papacy began its reign in 538 AD upon Emperor Justinian's decree, and under the military protection of Belisarius. And the Bible says the beast will rule for EXACTLY 1260 years before receiving a mortal wound. Now it's just a matter of simple mathematics. It is also a grand method by which to see the Lord glorified. If the prophecy is correct, 1260 years after 538 AD the Beast must receive a mortal wound. If you add 1260 years to the "official" beginning year for the Roman Catholic church became a "church and state" religion, 538 AD, you will arrive in the year 1798 AD. According to the Bible we are told the first reign of the Beast will last till the year 1798 . So, did it end in 1798, and how? First understand, according to the prophecy, we learn that, "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword..." Revelation 13:10.
The prophecy is telling us that the beast would be destroyed with the sword (sword = military) at the end of its reign of exactly 1260 years. Did this happen to Papal Rome in 1798...? YES IT DID! On February 10th Napoleon Bonaparte in that EXACT year 1798 A.D. sent his General Louis Alexandre Berthier, with his army into Rome, Italy. It is recorded... "In 1798 General Berthier made his entrance into Rome, abolished the papal government, and established a secular one." -Encyclopedia Britannica 1941 edition
That's Exactly 42 prophetic months, or 1260 years, or a time, and time, and dividing a time after the Papacy began its powerful reign that the Pope "shall go into captivity" by the military! By the way, shortly after his captivity the Pope did in fact die in exile.
Ok.. for the important end of it all for some folks. The prophecy declares this to be a great tribulation time for the church. In fact, Jesus does state that there will be a great tribulation before His return. (I will get back to this later) So is there to be a great tribulation? Or was there already one that was covered up, or conveniently forgotten? Historic fact is, the total of Christians killed by the Roman Catholic church is at least 25 times greater than the 6 million killed by Hitler and the Catholic church! Over 150 MILLION Christians lost their lives in the most horrendous ways known to man during the time Jesus prophesied to be the GREAT TRIBULATION in Matthew 24. Some valid sources put that number at 500 million dead. That's over 83 times more then Hitler! A number as large as 150 million or 500 million had to have been mentioned in prophecy! Was it?
The Vatican admitted on March 12, 2000 that they killed these followers of Christ in a bevy of torturous ways. This church boiled in oil, burned alive, sawed in half, buried alive, skinned alive, crushed to death, stretched to death, hanged, impaled, drawn and quartered, drowned, cast off cliffs hundreds of millions of Christians. Many were tortured in ways that would bring tears to even the hardest hearts. Yet many preachers today declare unto all that this day is soon in coming? They are in essence declaring Jesus lied, and those 150 or 500 million could not have been what He meant when He spoke of a great tribulation. In fact, they declare that Jesus will come back and secretly remove all the Christians and leave the rest behind to deal with 7 years of tribulation. I ask, is this true? Can the Bible confirm this? Or will the Bible expose this as a lie?
Before going further, I must make it known why the Vatican and others that preach this error have preached a 7 year tribulation. You must understand the main reason this is occurring. The real culprit of these deaths is the un-renowned master at making certain historical facts difficult to find. Rome has to do this so the world won't know who really did kill these 500 million Christians under direct orders of Hell. They must do this so they can appear holy in the eyes of those it has sitting in its pews. If the people knew, they would leave the church! The Vatican has openly lied about these historic facts for hundreds of years to its church goers as well as those outside this Synagogue of Satan to save face. However, just recently, Pope John Paul II did in fact admit in his globally publicized "mea culpa" that the Roman Catholic church killed hundreds of millions of men women and children because they would not embrace Catholicism over and above the faith of Jesus Christ they learned of in the Bible. The mea culpa of John Paul II was an actual admission to those that do read their Bibles that the Vatican is truly the home of Antichrist. The Bible says only one entity will kill the children of the Lord in such a grand scale as this. Sad thing is, most of the world does not read their Bibles as the prophet Amos predicted for today. (See Amos 8:11) And most of those that do read bibles are unable to understand prophecy because of multiple reasons. Whether it be a lack of faith, a lack of desire to study His Word, false pastors and teachers, or a re-written bible, they simply cannot see the truth as it is written. So simply don't believe in prophecy making it impossible for them to realize what time it is in the prophetic clock.
When the Pope admitted to doing what the Word says Antichrist would do, THE MAJORITY OF THE CHRISTIAN WORLD MISSED IT! They only saw a weak frail old man asking for forgiveness for sins of the past. The worldly Christians missed what happened that day completely! The Pope actually admitted his church did what prophecy stated ANTICHRIST WOULD DO during the time Jesus described as the Great Tribulation! The Pope admitted on March 12, 2000 in his "Mea Culpa" that the Roman Catholic church KILLED THOSE CHRISTIANS!! Every Newspaper, TV Anchorman, Preacher, Pastor, Politician or layperson shared what the pope and his priests admitted to. So... why did the world miss that prophetic fact? Because they can't understand the prophecies that described this beast thanks to all the false preachers, teachers and pastors they trust. Another reason is, the Devil loves to spit in the face of the Lord. He loves to play his major role as an "accuser of the brethren" to the Father of Creation! He loves to spew out words such as this... "Look! Your Bible openly predicted I would do this act! Look your Bible openly stated I would infiltrate a Christian church to destroy the faith of billions and even kill untold numbers! And look, I had my man in Rome tell the whole world we did exactly what your Bible said I would do! And all your loving Christians embrace me! MOST of your children are ignoring your warnings Jesus! Look! I have them where I want them! They truly trust in my man in Rome as your man because I've convinced them to put down their Bibles and ignore all the prophecies you designed to wanr them! He does all that your Bible said he would do for me!! And your children refuse to read their Bibles and see this! Soon I will stand as you when I proclaim myself Jesus Chirst and they will worship me before your very eyes! And to think! They would have all been saved if they only listened TO YOU Jesus!"
Now I would like to share with you the Words of Jesus Christ Himself as He spoke of the GREAT TRIBULATION. Be prepared to find out something no one has ever told you before. I pray you also understand by the short preface I just shared that there is a reason they hid this from you. They don't want you to be ready for the Lord's arrival. They want you to be looking for a diffrenent prophetic fulfillment rather then the final one. Biblical fact is, the children of the Lord do understand prophecy. That is why Jesus does NOT come as a thief in the night to His child. And here is Biblical proof of that fact.
JESUS COMES AS A THIEF TO THE WICKED:
1 Thessalonians 5:1-2, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
JESUS DOES NOT COME AS A THIEF TO THE REMNANT
1 Thessalonians 5:4-6, "But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober."
Most preachers refuse to share those verses with you simply because if they do share them they fear you will want more information so as to be ready. Problem is, they don't have any more info because they never study prophecy which would in turn teach them of the urgency of the times we live in as well as inform them how to ready themselves. What's worse, they know they don't have the answers their flock seek in the area of prophecy, so they stop short in the Word to prevent them from questioning their message and bombarding them with embarrassing questions that may get them removed from the pulpit due to lack of knowledge. An excellent example o this is the infamous "Left Behind" video series. They twist a few verses all throughout the movie to make it appear there will be a 7 year great tribulation. But when it comes time for the great tribulation to begin in the movie, THEY LITERALLY END THE MOVIE!! Why? Because they cannot preach lies using Scripture! You cannot back up man's words with God's Word. It simply can't be done! So, they choose to "suggest" their message, twist a few verses to make it appear valid, and then run off.
So... Is there a 7 year tribulation in the future? Or has it already happened? Fact is, you're about to find out IT DID ALREADY OCCUR! Jesus declared "certain prophecies" MUST be fulfilled directly after the great tribulation of Matthew 24. See here the documented proof that THOSE PROPHECIES HAVE IN FACT BEEN FULFILLED, and they were ffulfilled directly after a time in History when the Vatican killed over 500 million innocent Christians.
This is proven by historians ..ie In A.D.66 when Cestius came against the city, but unaccountably withdrew, the Christians discerned in this the sign foretold by Christ, and fled while 1,100,000 Jews are said to have been killed in the terrible siege in A.D. 70. (The attack of the Roman warrior Titus occurred in 70AD killing the 1,100,000 Jews) Eusebius, Church History, book 3, chap. 5
The Christians living at the time Cestius came against the city, and then withdrew, understood exactly what was happening. They remembered the prophecy Jesus made in Matthew 24:15,16 and fled to the mountains before the Roman army returned in 70AD with Titus. Could it be Cestius was "casing the joint" as we say in today's lingo? For whatever reason, the Lord saw fit to warn His children in advance of this day and they glorified Him by believing His prophetic statements and fleeing as He suggested they should. As the history book records we see that the non-believing Jews in the city saw no danger when Cestius stopped by. And because they chose to deny Jesus and ignore His prophecy, they paid for their disbelief with their very lives! 1,100,000 men woman and children DIED when Titus returned to burn Jerusalem to the ground. They could have all been spared a horrible death had they just believed in this one mere prophecy of our Lord! Think about today and all the prophecies that have been fulfilled over the years in just our lifetime alone. What an honor, to be loved so deeply by the Almighty Creator that He would warn us in advance like this.
After I read about this prophetic event as a young Christian I understood the importance of prophecy and why the Lord saw fit to bless us with it. I actually saw two reasons for His prophecy.
(1) PROPHECY GLORIFIES GOD IN HIS TRUTH
(2) IT'S GOD'S PERFECT METHOD OF WARNING HIS CHILDREN!
When we see the Almighty's prophecy come to light with 100% accuracy like this, we see a true and awesome Creator who knows all, has created all, and does in fact see all. We also see a God that loves His children so much that He actually writes them a book that shares with them the one true and accurate method by which to live and prepare themselves for His eternal Kingdom. Which by the way, is VERY soon in coming as you will soon see.
PROPHECY # 2
THE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS WILL EXPERIENCE A GREAT PERSECUTION, OR "TRIBULATION" BEFORE HIS RETURN
- Matthew 24:21 "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
This Great Tribulation that Jesus speaks of here in Matthew 24 is one prophecy that is so often taken out of context. It is actually taught by some as being at some time in the future. But what about all the history books that record the Dark Ages with such unintentional prophetic accuracy? Are we to assume that this documented period in history is one that should be forgotten, or looked at lightly? Are we supposed to say that over 500 Million Christians slaughtered for their faith in Jesus as being a time in history that isn't recorded in God's Prophetic Word? Does not the book of Revelation, as well as Daniel speak of a period of persecution occurring? Does it not plainly state Antichrist will attack and kill many Christians? On my page entitled, "7 Year Trib, Fact or Fiction" I share graphic evidence that will no doubt shock you. Most true seekers of Truth that read that page agree, it's amazing how such a blunt mand well known time in history has been so easily clouded over by the agents of Rome as a time that Christ overlooked in prophecy. (See my book, "The Second Window" for an in depth look at the truth about this as well.) Think about it for a moment... All the history books in every library on earth record a period of time with intense religious persecution. Here are just a few excerpts..."For teaching faith contrary to the teaching of the Church of Rome, history records the martyrdom of more than 100 million people." Brief Bible Readings p. 16

After the signal of open martyrdom had been given in the canons of Orleans, there followed the extirpation of the Albigenses, under the form of a crusade, the establishment of the inquisition, the cruel attempts to extinguish the Waldenses, the martyrdoms of the Lollards, the cruel wars to exterminate the Bohemians, the burning of Huss and Jerome, and multitudes of other confessors, before the Reformation; and afterwards, the ferocious cruelties practised in the Netherlands, the martyrdoms of queen Mary's reign, the extinction, by fire and sword, of the reformation in Spain and Italy, by fraud and open persecution in Poland, the massacre of Bartholomew, the persecution of the Huguenots by the League,... and all the cruelties and perjuries connected with the revocation of the edict of Nantz [Nantes]. The church of Rome has shed more innocent blood than any other institution that has ever existed among mankind, will be questioned by no Protestant who has a compentant knowledge of history. The memorials, indeed, of many of her persecutions are now so scanty that it is impossible to form a complete conception of the multitudes of victims, and it is quite certain that no powers of imagination can adequately realize their sufferings. -W.E.H. LECKY, History of the Rise and Influence of the Spirit of Rationalism in Europe, (Reprint; New York: Braziller, 1955) Vol.2 pp. 40-45The Dark Ages have been recorded in almost every history book available today, however, you may find that some of the modern day history books have altered or even omitted certain historical facts that can be easily researched in most local libraries. Rome has been able to do this over the course of our lifetime alone. Everyone knows about the Inquisitions, the crusades, and all the tirades across the Globe that this church has bragged about in days of old. But do any of the preachers or teachers speak of this time as beign a prophetic event recorded in the Word of God? No they have not. Rome has even stepped into the learning institutions to assure they won't even be taught these truths before they become pastors. However, the Internet has arrived, and now everyone on Earth has access to the largest library of information known to man. This is one of the main reasons the Pope decided to apologize to the world in his "mea-culpa" of March 12, 2000 for torturing and killing all those Christians. Almost anyone with access to a computer, can now verify just what Rome did. Not ALL the books were destroyed. And many of them are now accessible ONLINE! In fact, it no longer matters if your in a poor country, or unable to buy such a book. They now have Internet Cafe's in most countries, and in the USA your local libraries allow anyone to sit down and browse the World Wide Web for FREE! All the doctored history books in the world can't change the fact that Rome tortured and killed those innocent people. We have more proof now than did the innocent people living in that day!
Think of it, 100 MILLION! That actually dwarfs Hitler's holocaust by comparison! Some historians, like John Foxe, of Foxe's book of Martyrs are even estimating the death toll at just over 500 MILLION! This period was indeed the most extensive attack to date ever on the true Christian church in the history of mankind. But still, some preachers will go so far as to say this day is yet to come. Don't let those preachers of error scare you into thinking it's better to be a sinner than a saint because of a precarious future ahead. Of course all Christians will become extremely un-popular soon, and they will experience a short time of trouble as well as the "...time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it." [Jeremiah 30:7] We have an Almighty and Loving Heavenly Father that will protect and keep us during the trouble Jeremiah speaks of. However, the wicked will be all alone when the "time of Jacob's trouble" is realized. They haven't learned how to trust and rely on the God of all creation for protection in this intense time. And those that knowing the Truth concerning these facts waited until the troubles started to walk with Christ, they too will be found lost when Christ arrives. For they do not love Christ as Lord, and seek to please Him with their lives. They only seek Him as a way out of Hellfire, and this is not why He came. Sure, those that follow Christ will escape damnation. But this is not why we follow Him. We do so because we love Him.
Yes there is indeed a time of spiritual as well as physical trouble coming to this planet very soon, however, when the plagues do begin to fall, it is entirely directed toward the wicked, NOT the Christian! The Bible states very plainly that the children of God will be spared the seven last plagues of Revelation. The Un-Believer is the one that has the wrath of God poured upon him, and this wrath is poured WITHOUT mercy!
- Revelation 14:9,10 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:"
100 Million Christians, perhaps 500 Million! And they were all killed because the apostate Roman Catholic church thought they were doing God a favor by their terrorist methods of evangelizing! This brings to mind another prophecy that Jesus makes in the book of John about how the children of God will actually be persecuted by their very own religious leaders.
- JESUS SAID IN... John 16:2 "They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service."
Were you aware thet the Pope almost echoed verbatim what Christ said in this passage? The Pope of Rome admitted in his mea culpa on March 12, 2000 that the Vatican thought they were doing God's will when they tortured and killed all those people! To think that some religious leaders have actually been blinded so much that they think torturing a person, sometimes for days on end, and then eventually killing that person rather than preaching the Gospel to them is the method Jesus would have instructed them to do. This is evidence of the power and ability of a diabolical enemy we have found ourselves engaging. Nevertheless, don't let that slow you down one bit. For the Word says... "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." [Philippians 4:13]
The next three prophecies are a bit on the extraordinary in manner. Some would say shocking. I honestly believe that this is no mistake. I believe Jesus planned it that way so that when the prophecy comes to be, it can in no way be mistaken for anything less than fulfillment.
I will not be a bit surprised if you never knew these next three prophecies were actually fulfilled. The enemy has been very busy keeping these facts hidden from the general public. This has been going on for many hundreds of years. Rome has been very crafty in making sure certain facts were hidden from the general public.
Whenever an event occurs in history of Biblical proportions, the media of the day always seems to do a hush hush on it. Not unlike today in fact. They always seem to use the reason for playing it down to be that they want to prevent wide spread panic. I have recently noticed watching the TV news, many times a reporter will report an event that was actually prophesied in the Bible. But later the story will be absolutely impossible to find repeated on any other newscast or network. It's almost as if they realized their snafu of letting the prophecy confirmation air, and then decided to do a hush hush job on it to spare us the details. These next three prophecies are just like that. History does however record them in vivid detail. So be ready to see a prophecy of old come to light this very day. I have talked with many Christians about these prophecies, and with true honesty, I have to say that over 90% were amazed that they never knew of these particular facts!
PROPHECY # 3,4, & 5 are ALL found in Matthew 24:29, and proclaimed by Jesus Himself!
PROPHECY # 3
THE SUN WILL BE TURNED TO DARKNESS
- Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"
... If every luminous body in the universe had been shrouded in impenetrable shades, or struck out of existence, the darkness could not have been more complete. A sheet of white paper held within a few inches of the eyes was equally invisible with the blackest velvet." -SAMUEL TENNEY, Letter (1785) in Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society, part 1, vol.1 (1792 ed.), pp.97,98
The remarkable Dark Day of May 19, 1780, is described by Samuel Williams of Harvard, The professor relates... "between the hours of ten and eleven a.m., and continued until the middle of the next night,... Candles were lighted up in houses; ... the birds having sung their evening songs, disappeared, and became silent;... the fowls retired to roost; ... the cocks were crowing all around, as at the break of day; ... objects could not be distinguished but at a very little distance; and everything bore the appearance and gloom of night." -Memoirs of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences [through 1783], vol.1 pp. 234,235.)How can anyone deny such documented testimonies? Did you notice who these testimonies were from? A YALE president... The Historical Society of Massachusetts... And a HARVARD professor! These are credible witnesses! Over Sixteen and a half centuries earlier, the Lord Jesus said that after the tribulation period (1260 year dark ages) ended, these signs would begin to appear! And as we always see with the prophecy of an Almighty Omnipotent God... THE SIGNS OF HIS COMING DID INDEED BEGIN TO APPEAR
Some of you are probably a little shocked right now. Some of you may have always believed this day was still to arrive. Don't let that bother you though, you found out today, just as the Lord had planned for some of you. The enemy has been very cunning in his ability to hide the truth from many people for thousands of years. Today's time is no exception, as a matter of fact, today is more likely to be a conglomerate of confusing demonic lying attacks on the truth mainly because "...the devil is come down... having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. " [Revelation 12:12] So expect the worse people. Absolutely every aspect of battle, every scrap of lying wonders, is being showered on mankind with such density that it boggles the mind.
I have noticed something a bit obvious though. The enemy has a tendency to always show his hand. Take for example, the fact that so many people have trouble believing in Jesus today. The devil has geared his attack directly upon faith in Jesus! How obvious is that, I ask? One can actually find the truth by merely looking at what threatens the devil the most! It's truly become that obvious, and rightly so. It's the end times and the devil knows his time is short. Certain aspects of his attack are being exposed mainly because so many have fallen for his lies that their hidden agendas are bound to leak out and become visible to all. I am not alone in this either. Many have noticed the signs and have realized this proves the enemy knows his time is extremely short. It is easily noticed by watching the way mankind has played the trends as well.
Let me explain... In the 50's we had greasers and Fonzie types as a method of sin exploration. In the 60's we had the beatniks. In the 70's we had the hippies and free love. In the 80's it was the leisure suit clad Disco scene that enticed many into a world of sin. But look at the 90's and later. Every single method of the past is back! They are all playing out all at the same time, including some new decadent trends as well. It's almost as if the enemy is saying... "I had them dying on a daily basis using these methods in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. Why not get them to recall the trends of the past in one last hoorah before game over!" It's a fact people! Visit any big city and you will see people emulating trends of the 50's through the 90's all at the same time! These young people (and old alike) are seeking an answer to their inner self in places that are extremely deadly. The devil has convinced them that they have found themselves and need not look to the Bible for the answer. It's so sad and even ironic. They are searching for peace, and the very things that can give them peace is what they avoid at all costs! .
PROPHECY # 4
THE MOON WILL BE TURNED TO THE APPEARANCE OF BLOOD
- Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"
We see here that the prophecy states that the moon will not give her light directly after the sun is darkened. I like looking to the book of Joel to further illustrate this prophecy. Joel actually explains why the moon will not give her light and shine in her normal brilliance. We also understand this is speaking of the same prophetic event, because Joel places it in the same chronological order as Christ does in Matthew 24.
- Joel 2:31 "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come."
We see why in the book of Joel that the moon will have trouble shining on that day. It will appear to look as if it's covered in blood. This isn't the only reason I went to this particular verse. The reference to the bloody appearance is an important aspect in this prophecy. The Lord knew man would see the moon in this condition and comment on its apparent shade of crimson.. Historical Fact The moon was at it's full, and had the appearance of blood. Stone's History of Massachusetts "There was an appearance of midnight at noonday," and in the evening, although the moon was just past full, "perhaps it was never darker since the children of Israel left the house of bondage." In connection with this extraordinary phenomenon the moon was reported to appear red. (Letter signed "Viator" in the Independent Chronical [Boston], May 25, 1780, p.2; see also the Pennsylvania Evening Post [Philadelphia], June 6, 1780, p. 62)
By the way, not only was the moon full this day, it was on the inner side of the planet's orbit. This means those cunning skeptics out there can't claim a lunar eclipse as the culprit for this prophetic event. Most everyone I know either owns, or knows someone that owns a computer, or has access to the Internet. I suggest you check the lunar charts for the date May 19 1780 to verify this event. You are bound to have no trouble confirming this fact. PLUS... An eclipse can never last all day and all night. Unless of course the sun stopped dead in its tracks for 24 hours. (This can, and has happened by the way... See Joshua 10:12-14)
Is this not awesome? The prophecy states that the moon will not give her light. Then Joel confirms it is an authentic prophetic event by telling us it's because it appears as blood. Then many hundreds of years later after Christ declares this prophetic event for us in Matthew 24, we see it recorded as fact in the newspapers and media of the day that the moon had in fact the appearance of blood on a dark and sunless day!
PROPHECY # 5
THE STARS SHALL FALL FROM HEAVEN
- Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"
Documented Records reveal...
An eyewitness reported "This language of the prophet has always been received as metaphorical. Yesterday it was literally fulfilled,... as no man before yesterday had conceived to be possible that it should be fulfilled... Were I to hunt through nature for a simile, I could not find one so apt to illustrate the appearance of the heavens as that which St. John uses in the prophecy... They were what the world understands by the name of "Falling Stars" -Eyewitness account in the New York Journal of Commerce, vol.8, no.534, Saturday, Nov 16,1833 Edition.
"The morning of November 13th, 1833," says an eyewitness, a Yale astronomer, "was rendered memorable by an exhibition of the phenomenon called shooting stars, which was probably more extensive and magnificent than any similar one hitherto recorded... Probably no celestial phenomenon has ever occurred in this country since its first settlement, which was viewed with so much admiration and delight by one class of spectators, or with so much astonishment and fear by another class." -DENISON OLMSTED in The American Journal of Science and Arts, vol. 25 (1834), pp. 363, 364
"From the Gulf of Mexico to Halifax, until daylight with some difficulty put an end to the display, the sky was scored in every direction with shining tracks and illuminated with majestic fireballs. At Boston, the frequency of meteors was estimated to be about half that of flakes of snow in an average snowstorm... Traced backwards, their paths were invariably found to converge to a point in the constellation Leo." -AGNES M. CLEREKE, A Popular History of Astronomy (1885 ed.), pp. 369, 370.
Frederick Douglas, in reminiscing about his early days of slavery, says: "I witnessed this gorgeous spectacle, and was awe-struck. The air seemed filled with bright messengers from the sky... I was not without the suggestion at the moment that it might be the harbringer of the coming of the Son of Man; and in my then state of mind I was prepared to hail Him as my friend and deliverer. I had read that "the stars shall fall from heaven, and they were now falling." -Life and Times of Frederick Douglass (1941 ed.), p.117.Is that not amazing!? All three prophetic events occurred in perfect order just as Jesus said they would occur. And one thing many may not be aware of is that they also happened in the exact time in History that Christ said they would. Did you notice in Matthew 24:29 that Jesus started that passage by saying, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days..." before sharing the three prophetic events? In other words, ALL of those prophetic events were to occur after Rome was finished killing the Christians. And just as prophecy predicted. The Roman Catholic church was pulled from power by Napoleon, and the massive killings were stopped. We then start to see these signs fulfilled. Yet to this day preachers are stating that the great tribulation is still to come. Why? Because Rome has been very busy in hiding these historic facts about her past that link directly with prophecies of Antichrist. They MUST hide them if their modern day agenda is to come to light. Is it any wonder the Roman Catholic church put the Bible on the Index of forbidden books in 1229AD at the council of Valencia? They knew that if the people looked into their Bibles they would realize Antichrist was doing exactly as prophecy said he would do AT THAT TIME!. Truth is, they were in the midst of the Great Tribulation right when Rome starting burning Bibles. The devil has indeed been very busy hiding these historical facts for very obvious reasons. Had I known of these prophetic events in my youth when I was reading those government altered history books, I would have been searching the Scriptures a lot sooner than the ripe old age of 27. Did you notice this statement from the article describign the falling stars? It described the spectacle by saying it, "was viewed with so much admiration and delight by one class of spectators, or with so much astonishment and fear by another class" What an awesome preamble to that great and terrible day of our Lord. Some will embrace the day and proclaim with delight... "Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us:..." [Isaiah 25:9] And still others will cry out to the mountains and rocks in fear... "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb" [Revelation 6:16]
There is one more prophecy that is in connection with the previous three...
PROPHECY # 6
THERE MUST BE A GREAT EARTHQUAKE "BEFORE" THE SUN IS DARKENED AND THE MOON BECOMES AS BLOOD
- Revelation 6:12 "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;"
Did you notice, Revelation 6:12 actually puts it in chronological order. It states that "there was a great earthquake" and then John writes "the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;"
A great earthquake? How great? Greater than San Franciso? Greater than Mexico City? And will it really occur before The remarkable Dark Day of May 19, 1780? Well, 25 years BEFORE "the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;" There was an earthquake of the greatest magnitude ever recorded in history of man!
"The Lisbon Earthquake, which occurred on November 1, 1755, is the most notable earthquake in history." -Nelson's New Loose-leaf Encyclopedia (Book Productions Industries Inc.), art. "Earthquake."
The Historical Fact . Says Sir Charles Lyell, "A violent shock threw down the greater part of the city. In the course of about six minutes, 60,000 persons perished. The sea first retired and laid the bar dry; it then rolled in, rising 50 feet or more above its ordinary level... The area over which this convulsion extended is very remarkable." -Principles of Geology (11th ed., 1872), vol. 2, pp. 147, 148.
Encyclopedia Britannica (1945) estimates the deaths at a lower figure, but says the effects of the quake were felt from Scotland to Asia Minor and the distinctive feature of the Lisbon Earthquake was the agitation of inland lakes and streams far beyond the disturbed area -For instance, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain, Sweden, and Norway felt the effects. NOTE.—This doubtless refers to the great earthquake of November 1, 1755, commonly known as the Lisbon earthquake, the effects of which were felt over an area of 4,000,000 square miles. Lisbon, Portugal, a city containing 150,000 inhabitants, was almost entirely destroyed. The shock of the earthquake, says Mr. Sears, in his of the World," page 200, "was instantly followed by the fall of every church and convent, almost all the large public buildings, and one-fourth of the houses. In about two hours afterward, fires broke out in different quarters, and raged with such violence for the space of nearly three days that the city was completely desolated. The earthquake happened on a holy day, when the churches and convents were full of people, very few of whom escaped. . . . The terror of the people was beyond description. Nobody wept: it was beyond tears. They ran hither and thither, delirious with horror and astonishment, beating their faces and breasts, crying, 'Misericordia! the world's at an end!'. Mothers forgot their children, and ran about loaded with crucifixed images. Unfortunately, many ran to the churches for protection; but in vain was the sacrament exposed; in vain did the poor creatures embrace the altars; images, priests, and people were buried in one common ruin. . . . This earthquake was so intense that it still fascinates Scientists of today. Some have even gone so far as to try and say a black hole hit Lisbon! Can you imagine that? To go to such lengths as to try and disprove the Bible with such an outrageous claim as this. Anyone with an ounce of sense that has read even the slightest amount of data on the makeup of a black hole, would know that this is completely impossible. The entire planet would be destroyed if a black hole even came near our orbit, let alone hit us! When will these scientists learn you cannot disprove the infallible Word of the Creator God?
So... there you have it. Jesus said certain prophecies must occur AFTER the time the beast kills hundreds of millions of Christians, and here we see it happened exactly as Jesus said. So, just what is about to happen next? Since the Great Tribulation already did occur, what will the children of the Lord have to deal with in the coming days?
- Jeremiah 30:7, "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it."
Will we be here for the plagues? YES. Will they harm us? Well, if you really are a Christian, then believe the following passage...
- Psalms 91:10 says, "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling."
Just as the children of Israel had to deal with the plagues of Pharaoh, so shall the Christian children of Israel today have to deal with the plagues. Are we any more special? Are we better than they are? Or does the Bible lie, and the men who preach things not found in the Bible speak truth?
- Acts 5:29, "...We ought to obey God rather than men."
