Faith Demonstrated by Works

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:18.

The part man has to act in the salvation of the soul is to believe on Jesus Christ as a perfect Redeemer, not for some other man, but for his own self.

Christ imputes His perfection and righteousness to the believing sinner when he does not continue in sin, but turns from transgression to obedience of the commandments.
While God can be just, and yet justify the sinner through the merits of Christ, no man can cover his soul with the garments of Christ's righteousness while practicing known sins, or neglecting known duties.

The apostle James saw that dangers would arise in presenting the subject of justification by faith, and he labored to show that genuine faith cannot exist without corresponding works. The experience of Abraham is presented. "Seest thou," he says, "how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?" James 2:22. Thus genuine faith does a genuine work in the believer. Faith and obedience bring a solid, valuable experience.
Faith and works are two oars which we must use equally if we [would] press our way up the stream against the current of unbelief.

The so-called faith that does not work by love and purify the soul will not justify any man. "Ye see," says the apostle, "how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." James 2:24. Abraham believed God. How do we know that he believed? His works testified to the character of his faith, and his faith was accounted to him for righteousness. We need the faith of Abraham in our day, to lighten the darkness that gathers around us, shutting out the sweet sunlight of God's love, and dwarfing spiritual growth. Our faith should be prolific of good works; for faith without works is dead.

source :The Faith I Live By (1958), page 116

Many Christians including pastors with theological degrees mistakenly think the 10 Commandments not the ceremonial law were nail to the cross. Thus they use this argument to support there idea that the Ten Commandments the Decalogue is done away with.

"We are saved by Grace not by works "is there cry.The above statements should clear some things up.

Man can attain perfect characters

In all His Godlike deeds, the world's Redeemer declares, "I can of mine own self do nothing." "This commandment have I received of my Father." John 5:30; 10:18. All I do is in fulfillment of the counsel and will of My heavenly Father. The history of the daily earthly life of Jesus is the exact record of the fulfillment of the purposes of God toward man. His life and character were the unfolding or representation of the perfection of the character that man may attain by becoming a partaker of the divine nature, and overcoming the world through daily conflicts.

The youth need to keep ever before them the course that Christ followed. . . . In the study of His life we shall learn how much God through Him will do for His children. And we shall learn that, however great our trials may be, they cannot exceed what Christ endured.

Those who walk even as Christ walked, who are patient, gentle, kind, meek and lowly in heart, those who yoke up with Christ and lift His burdens, who yearn for souls as He yearned for them--these will enter into the joy of their Lord. They will see with Christ the travail of His soul, and be satisfied. Heaven will triumph, for the vacancies made in heaven by the fall of Satan and his angels will be filled by the redeemed of the Lord.

The Devotional life of those who endure to the end

Devotional Life of the Remnant

A Twofold Life

In this age, just prior to the second coming of Christ in the clouds of heaven, such a work as that of John [the Baptist] is to be done. God calls for men who will prepare a people to stand in the great day of the Lord. . . . In order to give such a message as John gave, we must have a spiritual experience like his. The same work must be wrought in us. We must behold God, and in beholding Him lose sight of self.--8T 332, 333 (1904). {LDE 63.1}
Communion with God will ennoble the character and the life. Men will take knowledge of us, as of the first disciples, that we have been with Jesus. This will impart to the worker a power that nothing else can give. Of this power he must not allow himself to be deprived. We must live a twofold life--a life of thought and action, of silent prayer and earnest work.--MH 512 (1905). {LDE 63.2}
Prayer and effort, effort and prayer, will be the business of your life. You must pray as though the efficiency and praise were all due to God, and labor as though duty were all your own.--4T 538 (1881). {LDE 63.3}
No man is safe for a day or an hour without prayer.--GC 530 (1911). {LDE 64.1}
He who does nothing but pray will soon cease to pray.--SC 101 (1892). {LDE 64.2}

Firmly Rooted In Christ

The storm is coming, the storm that will try every man's faith of what sort it is. Believers must now be firmly rooted in Christ or else they will be led astray by some phase of error.--Ev 361, 362 (1905). {LDE 64.3}
It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones.--DA 83 (1898). {LDE 64.4}
The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin. We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end.--DA 324 (1898). {LDE 64.5}
Christ and Him crucified should be the theme of contemplation, of conversation, and of our most joyful emotion.--SC 103, 104 (1892). {LDE 65.1}

Molded By The Holy Spirit

Never will the human heart know happiness until it is submitted to be molded by the Spirit of God. The Spirit conforms the renewed soul to the model, Jesus Christ. Through its influence, enmity against God is changed into faith and love, and pride into humility. The soul perceives the beauty of truth, and Christ is honored in excellence and perfection of character.--OHC 152 (1896). {LDE 65.2}
There is not an impulse of our nature, not a faculty of the mind or an inclination of the heart, but needs to be, moment by moment, under the control of the Spirit of God.--PP 421 (1890). {LDE 65.3}
The Spirit illumines our darkness, informs our ignorance, and helps us in our manifold necessities. But the mind must be constantly going out after God. If worldliness is allowed to come in, if we have no desire to pray, no desire to commune with Him who is the source of strength and wisdom, the Spirit will not abide with us.--OHC 154 (1904). {LDE 65.4}

The Necessity of Bible Study

No renewed heart can be kept in a condition of sweetness without the daily application of the salt ofthe Word. Divine grace must be received daily, or no man will stay converted.--OHC 215 (1897). {LDE 65.5}
Let your faith be substantiated by the Word of God. Grasp firmly the living testimony of truth. Have faith in Christ as a personal Saviour. He has been and ever will be our Rock of Ages.--Ev 362 (1905). {LDE 66.1}
Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the Word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts.--PK 626 (c. 1914). {LDE 66.2}
None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand through the last great conflict.--GC 593, 594 (1911). {LDE 66.3}
Only those who have been diligent students of the Scriptures and who have received the love of the truth will be shielded from the powerful delusion that takes the world captive.--GC 625 (1911). {LDE 66.4}
Our people need to understand the oracles of God; they need to have a systematic knowledge of the principles of revealed truth, which will fit them for what is coming upon the earth and prevent them from being carried about by every wind of doctrine.--5T 273 (1885). {LDE 66.5}

He is the Way, the Light ,He is The Truth

Jesus brings more than just peace to souls that have accepted Him.
Many have found Christ. In the truest and purest sense, He is the Savior and the sustainer of us all. He has brought peace to many lives and has wrought unimaginable changes.
I can testify to that. However, the Holy Spirit never stops there.
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

HE IS THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT
(way, truth and light are all inseparable)

All the truth i will not know until i sit face to face with Christ my Savior. I believe there is much more to learn and that i will never stop learning. He has given so much to share. It is impossible to have Jesus and keep Him to oneself, it is an Oxymoron
I cannot help it, i must tell. I implore anyone who has found Christ and accepted His saving grace to open their minds to what God's Word continues to say. 1 Thessalonians 5: 21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

Main Course

Matthew 7:13 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Do you pay attention to numbers? Then get this ...Few

1Peter 3:20 "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
Luke 17:27 "They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all."

Matthew 24:37 "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man (Jesus)be."

Genesis 18:22-33
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it .
29 And he spoke unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.
30 And he said unto him , Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it , if I find thirty there.
31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.
32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
33 And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Only a few will choose God and few will be chosen Judges 7:1-7

The majority of the world does not follow God by His Word , they follow God by numbers.
God was never about Majority.
All of Christendom does not keep God's law. But many will soon come over, He says.
Ezekiel 34:12
Jeremiah 50:6
John 10:14
Jeremiah 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:26
Romans 9:27 Isaiah also crieth concerning Israel, though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

God require that we serve him on His terms ,His way, His rules and His law. This is endorsed in His Word and His Life.
But if we must choose, we must do so willingly, he doesn't force us.
Many want a middle ground they serve Him on their terms, their way, their rules and with the traditions of men.

Jesus Christ foresaw a problem with religion, this is what He says (now, read carefully, follow the punctuations and everything will be made clear) This is a grossly misunderstood passage of scripture.

Mark 13:6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ ; and shall deceive many.

Christ is speaking, its in RED in some Bibles. "Many shall testify truly that I Jesus Christ is truly the Christ, and the very same shepherds will deceive many.

Many have taken a resolve this year2009 to be close to Him, to turn a new leaf or to improve on their spiritual lives and serve God in spirit and in TRUTH.
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Amen

Surviving the Financial Crisis Via Trusting God

Yesterday was the seventy-ninth anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash. The big sell-off began on Thursday, October 24, 1929. The market continued to fall for a full month, reaching a low point in 1932. It wasn’t until 1954, 25 years later, that the market returned to pre-1929 levels. American economist Richard M. Salsman said, “Anyone who bought stocks in mid-1929 and held on to them saw most of his or her adult life pass by before getting back to even.”1
With the recent implosion of world markets, many today are concerned that we could be repeating history. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been lost. Companies are going under. Unemployment and foreclosures are climbing. And entire industries are clambering for government bailouts.
World leaders are gravely concerned. At the start of the meltdown, U.S. president George Bush warned, “Our entire economy is in danger.” Respected investor Warren Buffett calls this an “economic Pearl Harbor” and is concerned that the United States could be facing “its biggest financial meltdown in American history.”
Market analysts are equally alarmed. “You have to throw out the history books because there’s really nothing to compare this to,” says Jim Dunigan, a chief investment officer at PNC. Art Hogan, chief market strategist for Jefferies & Co., agrees that we’ve not seen anything like this since the Great Depression. “We’ve never witnessed this before,” Hogan warns. “There’s no road map for this.”2
God Has a Road Map
Hogan may be correct when referring to human history, but God does have a map for this wild terrain. Centuries ago, His inspired writers clearly indicated that we would experience a time of great financial upheaval in the last days.
In fact, James 5:1-5 sounds like it came from yesterday’s front page news. The greed of individuals and corporations causes financial disaster. Intense misery inflicts the world as the “treasure heaped together for the last days” evaporates.
The book of Revelation also predicts a time of economic hardship. We are warned that the “merchants of the earth” will “weep and mourn” because no one buys their merchandise. There will come a time when “no one may buy or sell” except they worship the antichrist beast (Rev. 18:11-17; 13:17).* Many Bible students see in these texts a pattern: economic hardship leads to economic controls, which ultimately leads to the ability to coerce worship. This is a pattern that could very well be in the making right now.
How Can This Happen?
Some may wonder how enforced worship could possibly happen in a freedom-loving country such as the United States. People do not easily give up their rights to buy and sell, or their right to worship or not. But a series of crises can whittle away at our psyches until society is ready to surrender virtually any freedom for the promise of security.
Look at what happened after 9/11. We took a quantum leap towards Revelation 13 when Congress quickly passed antiterrorism bills. Secret searches of homes and property, FBI access to medical and financial records without a court order, interrogation without probable cause, closed judicial hearings, and indefinite detention became reality post-9/11.
Add to this the world’s response to recent financial difficulties. Entire economies and business sectors are being taken over through government bailouts that leave bureaucrats ultimately in control of buying and selling.
Some will argue these moves are needed to protect society. Perhaps, in a sense, they are correct. But on the other hand, this could be part of the devil’s plan. By creating crises that don’t have good solutions, he traps us in a classic no-win dilemma. Without government intervention we are vulnerable to terrorism and financial collapse. And with it, we are put in an equally dangerous predica-ment through the loss of liberty.
So, how can we avoid Satan’s traps? Especially when we see the economy collapsing and our earthly resources and freedoms disappearing? How will you feed your family? How will you keep a roof over your head? These are the questions people are asking. Thankfully, God’s Word tells us how to be secure during times of uncertainty.
Three Ways to Prepare: (Here are three things you can bank on during tough financial times.)
1. Put your spiritual house in order.
Check your relationship with Jesus. Is He first in your life? There is a law of physics that says, two things cannot occupy the same place at the same time. This is true in the spiritual realm, too. Matthew 6:24 tells us that we “cannot serve both God and Money” (NIV). There is enough room for only one god in our lives. Whomever you serve will eventually consume your thoughts, feelings, and desires. It will shape your very person.
Satan knows this, so he stealthily lays traps for Christians. Some of his most effective snares lead Christians to sacrifice their faith on the altar of greed. They spend their best energies, talents and resources for the almighty dollar instead of the Almighty God.
I once met a man who was doing this very thing. We happened to be sitting together on an airplane. During our discussion he told me, “I don’t serve God. I serve money.”
Here was an intelligent fellow, holding several degrees already and currently studying to be a lawyer—but he was missing the wisdom of the ages. He didn’t understand the number one principle to economic security—Make God first in your life. He should have known better. He was raised in a Christian family by dedicated Adventist parents. Yet he sadly chose money over God and was out of the church.
Many are making similar mistakes. They are serving money when they should be serving God. They work on God’s Holy Sabbath Day . They hold back the tithe rather than trust God. They follow the business practices of the world, instead of the principles of truth. And the irony is that in spite of their slavish service to money, they will lose it either in an economic collapse or certainly when Jesus returns. The only thing any of us will ever take into heaven is our character and our relationship with God. When you put your spiritual house in order, you invest in eternity.
2. Put your financial house in order.
One reason the economy is in such shambles is because people borrowed more than they could reasonably afford. They were led to do so by the greed of lenders. There are many Biblical principles on how to put your financial house in order. Here are just a few.
Be free of debt. “The borrower is servant to the lender” (Prov. 22:7). When we are indebted to someone else, we lose a degree of freedom. If you haven’t yet done so, pay off your credit cards, car loans, second mortgages, and all other debts. Consumer debt in the United States is now at $2.6 trillion dollars, not including real estate mortgages.
According to the Wall Street Journal’s “MarketWatch,” the next big tidal wave to strike the markets is this debt. “Credit-card debt is on the brink of imploding and will be the next storm to hit the fragile finance industry.”3 This is very concerning. The economy has already suffered a succession of financial tsunamis. How much more can it handle?
If you don’t want to be servant to your lenders, cut back on spending, sacrifice if needs be and pay on your debts. Start with the highest interest debt you have by adding an extra amount to your monthly payments until it is paid off. Next, take what you were paying on this retired loan every month and add it to the payment of your next highest interest loan. With this extra payment you will soon pay off your second loan. Then put the amount for these two loans towards the third loan every month. Keep doing this until all your loans are paid off. By following this plan, you will soon be free from debt and not as vulnerable to wide swings in the economy.
Another important strategy is to have some money set aside for emergencies. What if you lose your job or get ill and can’t work? Experts say you need several months of living expenses set aside in a cash account for easy access.
Now is a good time to discuss with your family your standard of living. Is it possible for you to live in a simply fashion? Have your “wants” become “needs,” consuming every dollar you make and then some? Perhaps you don’t need the large house or the extra car. Selling them could provide important relief and allow you to refocus on other priorities such as your relationships with loved ones and God.
You may even want to prayerfully consider a move to a more rural location. The Spirit of inspiration has long urged God’s people about the dangers of the big cities, especially during the end-times. A home in the country, or a small town, could be a safe harbor in times of urban stress. Certainly, most people find the fresh air and open space a benefit, even in stable times.
3. Put God’s house in the proper order.
Too many people have their priorities backwards. They earn their money, spend it on their needs and wants, and then see what is left over that they can contribute to the church. However, God’s house must be at the top of our priorities if we plan to survive economic collapse.
This is no time to be stingy with God. We must resist the natural tendency to hoard money. Now is when we need to be the most liberal with God’s cause.
Did you know that people respond more readily to God during times of financial uncertainty than compared to stable periods? It is not hard to understand why. Once the earthly god of money is removed, people start looking for a more dependable God in whom they can trust. Right now, we can be most successful in sharing God’s last-day message with millions who are looking for hope.
But we can only do so as the gospel work is financed by you and me. If we don’t return a faithful tithe and offerings, we are allowing Satan to deceive and destroy people.

How, you ask? Consider this—God owns everything. “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness” (Ps. 24:1). “‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts” (Hag. 2:8).
Everything God owns is invested in saving and benefiting lost humanity—to lead people to Christ and eternal life. Now let me ask you a question: If God wants to invest His silver and gold into saving souls, where is He going to get it from?
Remember, God has no pockets. The only pockets He has for His money are our pockets. He lends us the bounties of the earth and allows us to hold them for Him. Then, when He needs something for His work, He calls upon us to reach into our pocket and give it back to Him.
We can’t do any better than to liberally invest in God’s work. Especially during these uncertain economic times. Remember, the sooner the world is introduced to Jesus, the sooner He will return.
Jesus Is Coming Soon.
Recent events are unmistakable reminders that we live in the last days. The stock market, banks, and world economies have been in a free fall. Tensions are mounting around the globe. Meanwhile, terrorists are plotting their next attack. If they manage to catch us at this vulnerable economic time, it will certainly mean exponential chaos.
In spite of all their promises to the contrary, politicians do not have the answer for these problems. Look at the billions of dollars they’ve thrown at this black hole—and it only keeps growing larger and larger.
This is why God’s people must help desperate men and women find the only true answer. If we don’t warn them now, many will play directly into the enemy’s trap to accept a false christ as the healer of this world’s troubles. People need to know what you and I have known for years—Jesus is coming!
This is the time, more than ever, not to panic, but to trust God and faithfully follow the instructions He has outlined for us in His Word. When we do this, we will survive anything that might happen in the financial markets. God Himself guarantees it.

WANT TO SEE CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE in 2009?

WANT TO SEE CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE ?

First of all I have discovered that no one can change himself in to a better person you can become more intelligent, more knowledgeable. But how many people with all these or as some of these characteristics are (naturally born killers) as Hollywood puts it. How about an intelligent liar for a husband or wife. Or a talented promiscuous friend

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Jeremiah 17:9 the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Free in and Through Christ

How ever there is more than hope for all of us, many have found it but some are still searching.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthener me.

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:

Righteousness comes only by faith in Jesus Christ.

Faith in Greek is the word Pistis which means Total Reliance upon

Self Will can only get you so fare .

Note Determination, Focus, level hotheadedness are all traits needed when setting achievable goals.

Self will in temporal things may be fine admirable.

However self will with spiritual or character change does not cut it ,and may fall short as mental tools to achieving life altering habits.

God is love and He gives us choice. We can choose to love him or don’t, choose to know him or don’t. Love cannot be forced.

Its either we want Him or not.

I can will myself to do the right things outwardly but inwardly am doing the wrong and possibly hate doing right.

I have come to the conclusions that overcoming bad character traits or any weakness is a fight with keeping the (Faith= Total Reliance upon) Jesus.

Fighting the problem will get me no where. Fighting to keep the relationship with Christ is what gets me the victory over the problem.

As I get close to Him I get further away from the sin challenge.

That is placing the Axe at the root, that is the hammer on the nail.. That is effective

If you are making the same resolutions every year then maybe you’re not fighting the good fight.

The Good Fight is placing energies and emphasis where it matters. That’s what Paul was talking about.when he said in 1Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Place the emphasis on Knowing Christ on looking at Him daily.

YOU WILL SEE CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE.

To Muse= to thinking.To be Amuse=Not to think

Television, Internet, Video Game Screens & Church

Let's start with some statistics:

In the average American home, the television is turned on 6 hours and 47 minutes per day.
66% of Americans regularly watch television while eating dinner.
The average American child watches 28 hours of television, including 17 scenes of murder, per week.
The average American child plays 9 hours of video games per week.
94% of Teen-rated (13 years or older) video games contain "Violence" or "Violence and Blood" content.
The first exposure to internet pornography occurs on the average at 11 years of age.
47% of Christians "admit" pornography to be a problem in their homes.
40% of pastors with home internet access "admit" to visiting pornographic websites.
(Sources: A.C. Nielsen & Co., TV-Free America, Mediafamily.org, Focus on the Family)

Appalling, isn't it? There are more numbers - just as appalling - from the named and other sources, and they all point to the same two conclusions: (A) we spend far too much time staring into screens of televisions, video games and internet devices; and (B) Satan is spewing poison through those screens to destroy individuals, marriages, families and ministries.

What about television news?

Crimes, disasters, wars and commercials account for 84% of local television news broadcast time, which is almost devoid of coverage, let alone balanced coverage, of what is happening to the body of Christ around the world today.

What about television sports?

While idolization of sports stars is idolatrous on its own, the bigger issue is the aggregate amount of time Christians spend watching sports on television. God gave us time to serve Him, but billions of hours of what should be dedicated to sowing seeds and reaping harvest for Jesus are being wasted on couches watching people run after balls.

What about Christian television channels and programs?

They may call themselves "Christian" but few present the true Gospel, and much if not most of their content, including all of their incessant begging for money, is an embarrassment to the true body of Christ and our Lord.

Granted, there is nothing intrinsically bad about the technology behind televisions, video games, computers and the Internet, and they aren't completely devoid of positive content. However, given the state of the majority of the content, something has to be done to stop Satan from poisoning the body of Christ and robbing us of our Christ-serving time.

What should be done?

1. Eliminate from the home all televisions, video games and gaming consoles. The kids may protest and you'll be left out of water cooler chatter about sports and television. But you will get to talk to your family during dinner, read better quality news online (the last page lists Christian news websites) or in print, and have more time to pray, read the bible and serve the Lord.

2. Install the latest parental control software and filters on all computers and other web devices. Closely monitor children's emails, online community profiles, limit Internet access to fixed, non-private locations, and think of other ways to increase transparency and accountability for Internet usage. The last page lists a site that helps those struggling against pornography.

3. Ensure that your kids are not watching television, playing video games or surfing the web unsupervised at their friends' homes. Collaborate with the parents of their friends. If they won't collaborate, keep your kids away from their homes.
