What Is Protestantism?

In the consideration of a theme of this character and importance, a correct understanding of the terms employed is essential. Particularly is this the case with the word “Protestant,” the true meaning of which, through long years of disuse and abuse, has been largely forgotten.
It is very generally believed today that the word “Protestant” implies a narrow, bigoted, and
negative attitude. Such a conception, however, is the very opposite of the true meaning of the term.
There is in it no suggestion of mere negation. Analyzed, it consists of pro (for, or in favor of), and testari (to bearwitness). A true Protestant, therefore, is a witness for the truth; he bears testimony in favor of his cause. That which is simply negation of error is not true Protestantism.
The true Protestant will bear primarily a positive message. His attitude will be that of his Master
who said: “I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.” John 12:47. His words will be the savor of life unto life, not of death unto death. His attitude at all times will be that of Jesus Christ, “Who beforePontius Pilate witnessed a good confession.” 1 Timothy 6:13. In this sense Protestantism at its birth in the sixteenth century was far more than a mere negation of popery. It was the “bursting into life of latent truths of Scripture” that rent the Papacy by reason of the explosive power of life itself.

CHRIST, THE TRUE PROTESTANT

It is well to remember that Christ was the divine Protestant. Throughout His earthly life He
protested in favor of truth, and that, indeed, in behalf of all people. He was for everyone, against no one.It may be suggested by some, and rightly so, that many of the statements of Christ were of a negative character. Truly, but His negatives were but intended to give weight to the positives asserted. “You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shall love thy neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” Matthew 5:43,44. His implied negation of the old time hatreds was expressed but to emphasize the glorious positive of Christian love. To the church leaders of His day Christ seemed to be a bringer-in of novelties, an over turner of he doctrines and customs established by traditions and ecclesiastical authority. To them His work was a negation of all the accredited church customs of the time. Quite naturally they opposed Him; but the attitude of those church leaders was due to an entire misunderstanding of the work and teaching of Christ.

He was not these merely to negative the errors of His time; He was not there to introduce novelties in place of the old truths of God; He stood for the eternal foundations. When they taunted Him with the question, “Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders?” He replied: “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? You have made void the Word of God because of your tradition.” Matthew 15:2-6, RV.
Jesus witnessed for the Word and the commandments of God. Hoary with age as were the
traditions of the elders, they were the novelties which had covered over and set aside the truth. Christ took a definite stand agains these traditions, and an equally definite and positive stand for the truth of God as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

The life of Christ is the pattern for every Protestant. As our Lord Himself fearlessly opposed
everything that was contrary to the commandments of God, regardless of the age of the error or the number of those who believed it, so must the true follower of Christ protest against error today. And it must bedone in the spirit of Christ.
The Protestantism of Christ was against error, against sin, but against no man. It was for everyone, against no one. Likewise today, with the tenderness of Him who came to seek and to save the lost, is the exposure of error to be made.
From the example of Christ we are to copy His wonderful, positive Protestantism. Every negative of Christ prepared the way for the assertion of a tremendous positive.
His negations swept away the ill-built structures of men and laid bare the foundation rock of righteousness and truth. That also is the task and the duty of every true Protestant today.
He must believe the Word of God as Christ believed it. He must keep the commandments of God
as Christ kept them. In other words, he must be a consistent believer and teacher of the foundation truths of God, his life being in harmony with his beliefs.
How much, then, is involved in this Protestantism! Clearly it is no light thing to be a true
Protestant. In a word, it means being a 100-per-cent Christian-a sincere student of the Bible, a practiser of its teachings, a lover of men, a hater of sin, a friend of God, and an obedient servant of Jesus Christ. Only by taking such a position as this, only by living such a life as this, can anyone be a true and consistent Protestant, standing on unassailable ground. The man who thinks he can be a Protestant and yetreject the Bible or some portion of it, is making a profound mistake. Likewise also the man who seeks to be a Protestant and yet is out of touch with God, is in grave danger. And from these considerations it becomes apparent that true Protestantism cannot only be anti-Catholic. If it is to be consistent Protestantism, witnessing in favor of the truth and standing against error wherever it may be found, it must also be anti-modernist, anti-evolutionist and against every evil that issapping the life of the Christian churches of today. At the same time it must be in favor of every good thing-prayer, Bible study, and all that is meant by Christian service. That is the Protestantism that is so sorely needed.
More than ever such Protestantism, with all its blessed outgrowths of righteousness and spiritual
freedom, is in danger today. Sin in a thousand forms is pressing in upon the professed servants of Jesus Christ, undermining faith, and scattering confidence in the Word of God. Materialism, money-making,pleasure-seeking, and the still subtler snares of Spiritism and Catholicism are separating men from God and breaking that contact which alone can make them strong, faithful, and stalwart witnesses for His truth.

If ever there was a time when true British Protestants needed divine help it is now; and it is for those who perceive the trend of events to pray for grace to enable them to witness a good confession. More than ever men and women are needed today who will stand like Daniel for the truth of God, and courageously contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.
Without question the hour has come for such a witness for the truth to be given to the world. This is the moment of supreme opportunity for those who still believe the simple, old-fashioned, everlasting gospel. Religions are in the melting pot. Creeds hoary with age are being scorched by the blazing light of modern knowledge. Tens of thousands are spiritually adrift, seeking truth but knowing not what to believe. Furthermore, a new generation is rising, separated from the moral habits and restrictions of the Victorian era as far as the east is from the west, and yet, with all the noble aspirations of youth, seeking some guiding star whereon to hitch the wagon of its out bursting life. All the future depends upon the lead that is given it today.

Speaking to the theological students at Cliffe Hall, Mr. Lloyd George said: “The one thing
England needs is not material things which we are bound to fight for. No; what England needs is a spiritual awakening. It is needed now more than ever. I believe there are signs that it is coming.”
Not long ago the following appeared in the editorial columns of the Daily Express:
“The people are conscious of a spiritual hunger which worldly things do not satisfy. They feel a
spiritual pang which is not alleviated by material anodynes. . . . There is something in them that asks for more than culture and learning. Deep below the surface of education there is a desire for spiritual peace and rest and faith. . . . All classes are alike in their half-conscious craving for the sustenance of the inner life.
“It may be that we are on the eve of a great awakening of the religious spirit. It may be that
after a period of spiritual aridity we are entering upon an era of new faith and new hope. It may be that the people as a whole are on the verge of a great rediscovery of the eternal verities. There is a certain stirring in the depths. There is a certain troubling of the dark waters. Even a secular newspaper may be permitted to bear witness to happenings that augur well for the moral health and spiritual energy of asorely, tried people,”
All over the land, despite the prevailing materialism, there is unusual inquiry concerning the
things of the soul. It is indeed the troubling of the waters. The Spirit of God is being poured upon all flesh.
Not for many years has there been so great an interest in matters of religion.
At such a time as this, what is more needed than a restatement of the principles of Protestantism, a lifting up anew of the gospel of Christ in its purity, simplicity, and power? After all, this is what the people need more than anything else. Indeed it is what they are waiting, hoping, groping for. It is the only religion that will bring them enduring satisfaction, and could they but know it they would seek nothing else.
Such a revival of true godliness as this, is, moreover, the only way that an effective bulwark can
be formed against the inrushing evils of the age-the only way to prevent our beloved country from falling back on the one hand into paganism, and on the other into the darkness of medieval superstition.
God help the professed Protestants that yet remain in the land to witness a good confession!

Do you Believe ?

Today I had an interesting conversation with people I love dearly. These are people I consider to be my brother and sisters. They are good people, very nice. They are people you can depend on.
My thoughts on God and the Bible comes across to them as an elaborate fairy tale.
Even the signs of what is to fall upon the earth seems like a pessimistic dooms day plot from a movie to them.

I must admit there are moments that I ask, do all these things I see in the bible the prophecies, the admonitions stories of Gods deliverance ,The flood,Sodom,Jesus the deciples. Are all these things for real.
The times i have question are few.Its not that the Lord has not reveal Himself to me and i doubt that He exist, far from it .But all that is happening in the world currently is so surreal.

I remember watching 911 unfold on television. I felt as time stood still that day. The events that were unfolding were before my eyes were cinematic in nature , i felt i was watching a movie.
As months past after the event i heard the reports of many who looked on that day even those close to ground zero ask the famous question "IS THIS FOR REAL, is this really happening ?".

The answers came back with full force.this is as real as the sun is in the sky.

  • Was if for real when Adam Sinned and God said you must leave the garden of Eden.
  • Was it for real when the site of death was before the eyes of Cane after slaughtering his brother. Remember no murders were ever committed up to that time.It wasn't like us who witness a few murders every day on Television-- At least those of us who still look at movies. By the way take a month of from television, after you return the things shown will strike you differently. they will jar your senses after you have taken some time away.
  • Was it for real when Noah preach for 120 years warning the antediluvian world, then suddenly for the first time rain came from above and water from beneath and flood the earth.
  • Was it for real when the cries of men women and little children permeated the wooden door of the ark and Noah so filled with anguish couldn't even open up because God himself shut it.
  • Is it for real we can still find flammable sulfur balls with some fuel left in them at the the saite of the city of Sodom.
  • Was it for real that when Daniel was shown in vision the coming of the messiah when he would be cut of crucified. Was is not for real that the after that time the message was to go to the Jews. see the whole thing here and understand it plainly from the Bible The final events that are to happen in the world as the truth is being proclaim even unto the end ?
  • Is it for real that Daniel was shown Nebuchadnezzar 's dream and the angel decode the parts of the image to mean Medea Persia, Greece, Rome

Lets say i am fooled. Deluded with the greatest concoction of human inventions to heard men into congregations like "sheeple". Lets say i fall captive to the massive plan of deception from the inception of the human intelligence. Lets say the greatest gamble is before us ..

  • Should I accept The Holy Bible
  • Should I accept the plan of salvation reveal in the Bible.
  • Should I accept that God is coming back for those who listen and heeded to the call to righteousness.
  • Should i accept that this world has a life span and the "cup of iniquity" is close to full and God has his limits to tolerating sin.
  • Should i take this risk, what is there to gain?
  • Should i choose eternal life ?
If i am guessing and unsure about all that I have presented above.
If i were to make a "Gamble" what would I choose..

ANSWER = I WOULD CHOOSE GOD,LIFE,RIGHTEOUSNESS & HEAVEN.

To choose otherwise would be i logical to me
I prefer to suffer hardship for a season, forgo the pleasures of this life which most leads to no happiness at all than to be out of the favor with the God of the universe. My lord.

But since am not in Doubt. Since that which I cannot see seems more real to me than the things that i see. I am convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that all that I have stated before including that which pertain to the Bible is Real.
I serve God not with doubts, nor with the guilt of making a gamble.
But i serve God because I know what i was before , what I represented the things I did .
Of my self I could not overcome those things to be who I am today. A man who no longer walks after the things of the flesh ..the power to overcome these things were not in me ..believe me i tried for years. Now that to me beside all that have been proven ,proves to me there is a God. And he is personally working out my salvation.

So to me personally is God real - Yes
Does he cares - Yes
Will he keeps his promise ? the record shows -Yes.

If you want to gamble with your life .Its your life.
But i will not gamble with mine.
I will continue to share Gods' word.
If anyone listens then happy is he.
If not . then know this. love does not force anyone.but my condolences in advance.
I hope that everyone out there reading this come to the knowledge of the TRUTH.

By Gods grace.
oh what I really came here to post was this. For those who believe in God and doubt and sometimes wonder if you believe in a fairy tale click here for some encouragement

weekly Cycle observed by Scientists, Historians and Astronomers

Historians have amassed an immense record of human events going back thousands of years. Those records tell us of people keeping the seventh day holy far back in recorded history.

Astronomers have kept an accurate record of time. And theirs is one of the most accurate that you will find anywhere.

They tell us that if all records of time should suddenly be lost, the astronomers could rediscover time from the mathematics of the stars in their motions. God put the stars in the heavens "for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years." Genesis 1:14.

Statements by eminent scientists, historians and astronomers:

"One of the most striking collateral confirmations of the Mosaic history of the creation is the general adoption of the division of time into weeks, which extends from the Christian states of Europe to the remote shores of Hindustan, and has equally prevailed among the Hebrews, Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks, Romans, and northern Barbarians, --nations some of whom had little or no communication with others, and were not even known by name to the Hebrews." --Horne's Introduction, Volum1, page 69

In the official League of Nations "Report on the Reform of the Calendar," published at Geneva, August 17, 1926, are the following representative statements by noted astronomers:

"The week has been followed for thousands of years and therefore has been hallowed by immemorial use." --Anders Donner, "The Report," p. 51. [Donner had been a professor of Astronomy at the University of Helsingfors.]

"I have always hesitated to suggest breaking the continuity of the week, which without a doubt is the most ancient scientific institution bequeathed to us by antiquity." --Edouard Baillaud, "The Report, p. 52. [Baillaud was Director of the Pris Observatory.]

"The week is a period of seven days.. It has been employed from time immemorial in almost all Eastern countries." --The Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, Volume 4, p. 988, article, "Calendar."

"As to Question (1)--I can only state that in connection with the proposed simplification of the calendar, we have had occasion to investigate the results of the works of specialists in chronology and we have never found one of them that has ever had the slightest doubt the continuity of the weekly cycle since long before the Christian era.

"As to Question (2) --There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in any way the cycle of the week." --James Robertson, personal letter, dated March 12, 1932. [Dr. Robertson was Director of the American Ephemeris, Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C.]

"As far as I know, in the various changes of the Calendar there has been no change in the seven day rota of the week, which has come down from very early times." --F.W. Dyson, Personal letter, dated March 4, 1932. [Dr. Dyson was Astronomer Royal, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London.]

"Some of these (the Jews and also many Christians) accept the week as of divine institution, with which it is unlawful to tamper; others, without these scruples, still feel that it is useful to maintain a time-unit that, unlike all others, has proceeded in an absolutely invariable manner since what may be called the dawn of history." --Our Astronomical Column," Nature, London, number 127, June 6, 1931, p. 869

"The week of seven days has been in use ever since the days of the Mosaic dispensation, and we have no reason for supposing that any irregularities have existed in the succession of weeks and their days from that time to the present." --Dr. W.W. Campbell, Statement. [Dr. Campbell was Director of Lick Observatory, Mt. Hamilton, California.]

"For more than 3,000 years science has gone backward, and with profound research, reveals the fact that in that vast period the length of the day has not changed by the hundredth part of a single second of time." --General O.M. Mitchell, Astronomy of the Bible, p. 235

"By calculating the eclipses, it can be proven that no time has been lost and that the creation days were seven, divided into twenty-four hours each." --Dr. Hinckley, The Watchman, July, 1926. [Dr. Hinckley was a well-known astronmer of half a century ago.]

"In spite of all of our dickerings with the calendar, it is patent that the human race never lost the septenary [seven-day] sequence of week days and that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, through the ages, without a single lapse." --Dr. Totten, Statement. [Dr. Totten of New Haven, Connecticut, was Professor of Astronomy at Yale University when this statement was made.]

"The continuity of the week has crossed the centuries and all known calendars, still intact." --Professor D. Eginitis, Statement. [Dr. eginitis was Director of the Observatory of Athens, Greecew.]

"It is a strange fact that even today there is a great deal of confusion concerning the question of so-called 'lost time.' Alterations that have been made to the calendar in the past have left the impression that time has actually been lost. In point of fact, of course, these adjustments were made to bring the calendar into closer agreement with the natural [solar] year. Now, unfortunately, this supposed 'lost time' is still being used to throw doubt upon the unbroken cycle of the Seventh-day Sabbath that God inaugurated at the Creation. I am glad I can add the witness of my scientific training to the irrevocable nature of the weekly cycle.

"Having been time computer at Greenwich [England Observatory] for many years, I can testify that all our days are in God's absolute control--relentlessly measured by the daily rotation of the earth on its axis. This daily period of rotation does not vary one-thousandth part of a second in thousands of years. Also, the year is a very definite number of days. Consequently, it can be said that not a day has been lost since Creation, and all the calendar changes notwithstanding, there has been no break in the weekly cycle." --Frank Jeffries, Statement. [Dr. Jeffries was Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and Research Director of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England.]

We conclude this study with an interesting historical analysis published by the Presbyterian Church:

"The division of time into weeks is a singular measure of time by periods of seven days that may be traced not only through the sacred history before the era of Moses, but in all ancient civilizations of every era, many of which could not possibly have derived their notion from Moses.. Among the learned of Egypt, the Brahmans of India, by Arabs, by Assyrians, as may be gathered from their astronomers and priests, this division was recognized. Hesiod (900 B.C.) declares the seventh day is holy. And so also Homer and Callimachus. Even in the Saxon mythology, the division by weeks is prominent. Nay, even among the tribes of primitive worshipers in Africa, we are told that a peculiar feature of their religion is a weekly sacred day, the violation of which by labor will incur the wrath of their god. Traces of a similar division of time have been noticed among the Indians of the American continent.

"Now, on what other theory are these facts explicable than upon the supposition of a divinely ordained Sabbath at the origin of the race?"

This is incredible chart over a100 years old
This Chart of the Week is over a hundred years old. It was prepared by Dr. William Meade Jones, a research expert in London, England. Well over a hundred languages prove that the week, everywhere, has seven days;—and that, in most languages, the native word for the seventh day is "Sabbath" (which means "rest" or "rest day") or "rest day."

Dr. William Meade Jones lived over a hundred years ago, and was a well-known London, England, research expert. He discovered in his studies that the Seventh-day Sabbath was the only weekly Sabbath ever commanded by God in the Bible.

The CHART OF THE WEEK, is over a hundred years old. It is extremely valuable and almost impossible to find today. click here for the chart.

Do Other Nonbiblical Sources Confirm Jesus Christ's Existence?

Many people assume that, apart from the Bible, history is silent concerning Jesus of Nazareth. But in fact, severalindependent witnesses testify of Jesus' existence. Let's notice a few.

Testimony from the Romans

Cornelius Tacitus (ca. 56-120) was a Roman senator, consul and governor of the Roman province of Anatolia (covering most of modern-day Turkey) as well as one of ancient Rome's greatest historians. Late in his life he wrote a 16-volume history of the Roman emperors, the Annals.

No friend to either Nero or Christians, Tacitus writes that Nero blamed "a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace." He goes on to explain that "Christus [Christ], from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty [crucifixion] during the reign of Tiberius at the hand of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome ..." (Annals, 15:44, quoted by Lee Strobel, The Case for Christ, 1998, p. 82).

A contemporary of Tacitus, Caius Suetonius Tranquillus (ca. 69-140), overseer of Rome's libraries and court official to several emperors, writes that the emperor Claudius "banished the Jews from Rome, who were continually making disturbances, Chrestus [Christ] being their leader" (Lives of the First Twelve Caesars: Life of Claudius, quoted by Grant Jeffrey, Jesus: The Great Debate, 1999, p. 163). This banishment of Jews from Rome is mentioned in Acts 18:2.

Also, "Pliny the younger, the Roman legate of Bithynia-Pontus (what is now north-central Turkey) in the early second century, wrote to the emperor Trajan, requesting advice on how to deal with Christians who refused to reverence Caesar's image. Pliny noted that these Christians met regularly and sang hymns 'to Christ as if to a god' (Letters 10:96.7). The phrase 'as if to a God' suggests that Pliny knew Jesus had been a person who had lived on earth but was reluctant to call him divine" (Craig Blomberg, The Historical Reliability of the Gospels, 1987, p. 196).

From these historical sources, none connected in any way with the Bible, we see references to these facts:

• A group called "Christians" derived its name from "Christus" (Christ).

• This "Christus" was executed during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of Pontius Pilate (Tiberius reigned A.D. 14-37; Pilate held office from 26 to 36 or 37).

• This new movement involved "a most mischievous superstition," quite possibly a reference to Christians' belief that Jesus rose from the dead after His crucifixion.

• This new movement begun by Christians began in Judea and spread to Rome.

• Early Christians considered Christ to be a divine Being.

Testimony from Josephus

Flavius Josephus, a prominent Jewish historian of the first century, is well known to historians and scholars. Born into a priestly family in A.D. 37, Josephus was well educated and commanded a Jewish detachment in Galilee during the Jewish revolt of 66-70 until his capture by the Romans. At the end of the war he went to Rome with the Roman general Titus, where he lived and wrote until his death about A.D. 100.

Josephus twice mentions Jesus in his monumental work Antiquities of the Jews, written A.D. 90-95. His most extensive quote reads:

"Now, there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works,—a teacher of such men as received the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ; and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day" (Antiquities, Book 18, chapter 3, section 3).

While many scholars dispute parts or all of the passage, it is quoted as above by the historian Eusebius as early as 315.

A second mention of Jesus by Josephus is seldom disputed by scholars. It concerns the martyrdom of James, His half brother: "Festus was now dead, and Albinus was but upon the road; so he assembled the sanhedrin of the judges, and brought before them the brother of Jesus, who was called Christ, whose name was James, and some others [or some of his companions;] and when he had formed an accusation against them as breakers of the law, he delivered them to be stoned ..." (Antiquities, 20:9:1).

Another prominent figure from the Gospels mentioned by Josephus is John the Baptizer: "Herod, who feared lest the great influence John had over the people might put it into his power and inclination to raise a rebellion,...thought it best, by putting him to death, to prevent any mischief he might cause...Accordingly he was sent a prisoner, out of Herod's suspicious temper, to Macherus,...and was there put to death" (Antiquities, 18:5:2).

Although Josephus was never a Christian, in his works we find mention of many other figures from the Gospels and other New Testament books. These include the family of the Herods; the Judean procurators and members of the high priestly families. His books, like the writings of the Roman historians and officials, provide powerful independent corroboration of the historical accuracy of the Gospels and the existence of Jesus Christ.

This a Continuation of the first Blog The Truth ..

1.what does the world think about the bible
2. What does the "Mother of all Christian Churches "think about the Bible.

This is what the Roman church lead by the POPE says:

"Can you learn to save your soul just by reading the Bible? No...because the Bible does not have everything God taught." A Catechism for Adults, Q. 1, p. 52."Now the Scriptures alone do not contain all the truths which a Christian is bound to believe, nor do they explicitly enjoin all the duties which he is obliged to practice." The Faith of Our Fathers, p. 72.

The Bible does not contain all the teaching of the Christian religion, nor does it formulate all the duties of its members."
The Faith of Millions, pp. 153-154.

This is what the word of God The bible says:

2 Timothy 3:15 - "For from thy infancy thou hast known the Sacred Writings, which are able to instruct thee unto salvation by the faith which is in Christ Jesus."2 Tim. 3:16-17 as a standard of fact. It says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproving, for correcting, for instruction in justice, that the man of God may be perfect, equipped for every good work."

So why is it the Vatican is declaring the exact opposite? It appears rather plain that the Scriptures are quite able to do that which the Vatican says it cannot. Fact is folks, if you investigate the methods of Satan you will see he ALWAYS twists that which the Lord says. In the Garden of Eden he twisted the Lord's Words to make it appear He lied regarding the end result of sin. He also did the same thing in the desert when he tried to tempt our dear Lord. Evidently the Scriptures do just fine in leading people to the salvation according to Timothy. In fact, that verse openly points to the Vatican and shouts in thunderous tones, YOU ARE A LIAR! It can’t be said any plainer then that.

the Vatican Says :...A Competent religious guide must be clear and intelligible to all.so that everyone may fully understand the true meaning of the instructions it contains. Is the bible a book intelligible to all ?Far from It it is full of obscurities and difficulties not for illiterate but even the learned." Faith of our fathers. p.70

The bible says:
2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation.
So who is the bible for The Hierarchic of the church to dictate to the those in the pews. No the bible was written for all mankind.

According to Rome itself, the Bible is NOT a loved, or trusted book! They openly and repeatedly declare that this is a book that is NOT required reading for the Christian. According to Rome, it is not to be embraced as a "safe method to find out what the Savior taught." Yet John 20:31 so eloquently professes "These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name." John is saying that people can actually learn about Jesus from the Bible, and the Bible ONLY. Praise the Lord John wasn’t a Catholic! Had he been one, we would never have heard such words, for he would have been taught by his church leaders not to bother in the first place. Dare I remind you of what Martin Luther went through for being arrogant enough to want to actually read a Bible let alone translate one?here what The Catholic church says : "The Doctrines of the Cartholic church are entirely independant of Holy scriptures". Familiar Explanations of Catholic Doctrine,p 151

There arguments
They said the Bible doesn’t record all necessary things which Jesus did.
Acts 1:1-2 says, "The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:"

They said Scripture doesn’t contain the certainty of Christ's actions and teachings.
Luke 1:3-4 says, "It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed." They say Scriptures cannot teach us to believe in the name of Jesus.
John 20:30-31 says, "And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

They say Scriptures cannot give instructions to salvation.
2 Timothy 3:15 says, "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."

They say the commands of the Lord are not found in His Word.
1 Corinthians 14:37 says, "If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord."
They say proper conduct is nowhere emphasized within the Word of God.
1 Timothy 3:14-15 says, "These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."

They say every good work is not found in His Word.
2 Timothy 3:15-16 says, "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

They say the Word cannot tell us how to be protected against sin.
1 John 2:1 says, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"And, most important, they say Word is not the standard of judgment.

Revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."The bible Says :
Mark 7:7, "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Isaiah 8:20, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.take note:Ever notice this? The Catholic Church will use 1 Timothy 3:15 where it says, "...the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."

They actually go to the Bible for their method of madness. They use the very same Bible they proclaim is useless to say we must adhere to them as the sole authority in religious matters. However, if you proclaim Sola Scriptura unto them, they shout THE BIBLE IS A DEAD AND SPEECHLESS BOOK! Talk about CoNfUsIoN! In essence ... they are saying... we will use the Bible when it is CONVENIENT for us to do so. But when it exposes us as sinners, we will put it aside! HYPOCRITES

Only a hypocrite would use a book they already declared useless as the main method of evidence for their stand!

The tuth is the truth and his word is Truth
