Eqyption Customs with Religious significance
In terms of tattoos on actual bodies, the earliest known examples were
for a long time Egyptian and were present on several female mummies dated to c. 2000 B.C. But following the more recent discovery of the Iceman from the area of the Italian-Austrian border in 1991 and his tattoo patterns, this date has been pushed back a further thousand years when he was carbon-dated at around 5,200 years old.(Carbon dating has many errors )The Body the temple of God.
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
God requires the body to be rendered a living sacrifice to him, not a dead or a dying sacrifice. The offerings of the ancient Hebrews were to be without blemish, and will it be pleasing to God to accept a human offering that is filled with disease and corruption? He tells us that our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; and he requires us to take care of this temple, that it may be a fit habitation for his Spirit. The apostle Paul gives us this admonition: "Ye are not your own; for ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." [1 COR. 6:19, 20.] All should be very careful to preserve the body in the best condition of health, that they may render to God perfect service, and do their duty in the family and in society. {CTBH 52.3}It is as truly a sin to violate the laws of our being as it is to break the ten commandments. To do either is to break God's laws. Those who transgress the law of God in their physical organism, will be inclined to violate the law of God spoken from Sinai.
Hollywood popularise sin and rebellion against God
"Angelina Jolie , she pretty much popularized this trend among Hollywood actresses. Angie has some stunning artwork on her (many of which is lasered off by now), and some of her most memorable tattoos are the longitudes and altitudes from the locations where her children were adopted or born (on her arm), the cross tattoo accompanied by the Latin phrase “Quod me nutrit me destruit” (What nourishes me, destroys me), a large Bengal tiger on her lower back, a Buddhist incantation written in Khmer script"
( Totally Modernised Paganism indeed)
Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
