The Great Controversy CHAPTER 4 The First Advent of Christ

Then I was carried down to the time when Jesus was to take upon himself man’s nature, humble himself as a man, and suffer the temptations of Satan.

            His birth was without worldly grandeur.  He was born in a stable, cradled in a manger; yet his birth was honored far above any of the sons of men.  Angels from heaven informed the shepherds of the advent of Jesus, while the light and glory from God accompanied their testimony.  The heavenly host touched their harps and glorified God.  They triumphantly heralded the advent of the Son of God to a fallen world to accomplish the work of redemption, and by his death bring peace, happiness, and everlasting life to man.  God honored the advent of his Son.  Angels worshiped him.

            Angels of God hovered over the scene of his baptism, and the Holy Spirit descended in the shape of a dove, and lighted upon him, and as the people stood greatly amazed, with their eyes fastened upon him, the Father’s voice was heard from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.

            John was not certain that it was the Saviour who came to be baptized of him in Jordan.  But God had promised him a sign by which he should know the Lamb of God.  That sign was given as the heavenly Dove rested upon Jesus, and the glory of God shone round about him.  John reached forth his hand, pointing to Jesus, and with a loud voice cried out, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.

            John informed his disciples that Jesus was the promised Messiah, the Saviour of the world.  As his work was closing, he taught his disciples to look to Jesus, and follow him as the great teacher.  John’s life was without pleasure.  It was sorrowful and self-denying.  He heralded the first advent of Christ, and then was not permitted to witness the miracles, and enjoy the power manifested by him.  He knew that when Jesus should establish himself as a teacher, he must die.  His voice was seldom heard, except in the wilderness.  His life was lonely.  He did not cling to his father’s family, to enjoy their society, but left them in order to fulfill his mission.  Multitudes left the busy cities and villages, and flocked to the wilderness to hear the words of the wonderful, singular Prophet.  John laid the axe at the root of the tree.  He reproved sin fearless of consequences, and prepared the way for the Lamb of God.

            Herod was affected as he listened to the powerful, pointed testimonies of John.  With deep interest he inquired what he must do to become his disciple.  John was acquainted with the fact that he was about to marry his brother’s wife, while her husband was yet living, and faithfully told Herod that it was not lawful.  Herod was not willing to make any sacrifice.  He married his brother’s wife, and, through her influence, seized John and put him in prison.  But Herod intended to release him again.  While there confined, John heard through his disciples of the mighty works of Jesus.  He could not listen to his gracious words.  But the disciples informed him, and comforted him with what they had heard.  Soon John was beheaded through the influence of Herod’s wife. I saw that the least disciple that followed Jesus, witnessed his miracles, and heard the comforting words which fell from his lips, was greater than John the Baptist.  That is, they were more exalted and honored, and had more pleasure in their lives.

John came in the spirit and power of Elijah, to proclaim the first advent of Jesus.  I was pointed down to the last days, and saw that John was to represent those who should go forth in the spirit and power of Elijah, to herald the day of wrath, and the second advent of Jesus.

After the baptism of Jesus in Jordan, he was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted of the Devil.  The Holy Spirit had fitted him for that special scene of fierce temptations.  Forty days he was tempted of the Devil, and in those days he ate nothing.  Everything around Jesus was unpleasant, from which human nature would be led to shrink.  He was with the wild beasts, and the Devil, in a desolate, lonely place. I saw that the Son of God was pale and emaciated through fasting and suffering.  But his course was marked out, and he must fulfill the work he came to do.

Satan took advantage of the sufferings of the Son of God, and prepared to beset him with manifold temptations, hoping he should obtain the victory over him, because he had humbled himself as a man.  Satan came with this temptation, If thou be the Son of God, command that this stone be made bread.  He tempted Jesus to condescend to him, and give him proof of his being the Messiah, by exercising his divine power.  Jesus mildly answered him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Satan was seeking a dispute with Jesus concerning his being the Son of God.  He referred to his weak, suffering condition, and boastingly affirmed that he was stronger than Jesus.  But the word spoken from heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased, was sufficient to sustain Jesus through all his sufferings.  I saw that in all his mission he had nothing to do in convincing Satan of his power, and of his being the Saviour of the world, Satan had sufficient evidence of his exalted station and authority.  His unwillingness to yield to Jesus’ authority, shut him out of heaven.

Satan, to manifest his strength, carried Jesus to Jerusalem, and set him upon a pinnacle of the temple, and again tempted him, that if he was the Son of God, to give him evidence of it by casting himself down from the dizzy height upon which he had placed him.  Satan came with the words of inspiration.  For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.  Satan wished to cause Jesus to presume upon the mercy of his Father, and risk his life before the fulfillment of his mission.  He had hoped that the plan of salvation would fail; but I saw that the plan was laid too deep to be thus overthrown, or marred by Satan.

I saw that Christ was the example for all Christians when tempted, or their rights disputed.  They should bear it patiently.  They should not feel that they have a right to call upon God to display his power, that they may obtain a victory over their enemies, unless there is a special object in view, that God can be directly honored and glorified by it. I saw that if Jesus had cast himself from the pinnacle, it would not have glorified his Father; for none would witness the act but Satan, and the angels of God.  And it would be tempting the Lord to display his power to his bitterest foe.  It would have been condescending to the one whom Jesus came to conquer.

“And the Devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  And the Devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  If thou, therefore, wilt worship me, all shall be thine.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”

Here Satan showed Jesus the kingdoms of the world.  They were presented in the most attractive light.  He offered them to Jesus if he would there worship him.  He told Jesus that he would relinquish his claims of the possessions of earth.  Satan knew that his power must be limited, and finally taken away, if the plan of salvation should be carried out.  He knew that if Jesus should die to redeem man, his power would end after a season, and he would be destroyed.  Therefore it was his studied plan to prevent, if possible, the completion of the great work which had been commenced by the Son of God.  If the plan of man’s redemption should fail, he would retain the kingdom which he then claimed.  And if he should succeed, he flattered himself that he would reign in opposition to the God of heaven.

Satan exulted when Jesus left heaven, and left his power and glory there.  He thought that the Son of God was placed in his power.  The temptation took so easily with the holy pair in Eden, that he hoped he could with his satanic cunning and power overthrow even the Son of God, and thereby save his life and kingdom.  If he could tempt Jesus to depart from the will of his Father, then his object would be gained.  Jesus bid Satan get behind him.  He was to bow only to his Father.  The time was to come when Jesus should redeem the possessions of Satan by his own life, and, after a season, all in heaven and earth should submit to him.  Satan claimed the kingdoms of earth as his, and he insinuated to Jesus that all his suffering might be saved.  He need not die to obtain the kingdoms of this world.  But he might have the entire possessions of earth, and the glory of reigning over them, if he would worship him.  Jesus was steadfast.  He chose his life of suffering, his dreadful death, and, in the way appointed by his Father, to become a lawful heir to the kingdoms of earth, and have them given into his hands as an everlasting possession.  Satan also will be given into his hands to be destroyed by death, never more to annoy Jesus, or the saints in glory.

The Great Controversy CHAPTER 3 The Plan of Salvation

Sorrow filled heaven, as it was realized that man was lost, and the world that God created was to be filled with mortals doomed to misery, sickness and death, and there was no way of escape for the offender.  The whole family of Adam must die.  I saw the lovely Jesus, and beheld an expression of sympathy and sorrow upon his countenance.  Soon I saw him approach the exceeding bright light which enshrouded the Father.  Said my accompanying angel, He is in close converse with His Father.  The anxiety of the angels seemed to be intense while Jesus was communing with his Father.  Three times he was shut in by the glorious light about the Father, and the third time he came from the Father, his person could be seen.  His countenance was calm, free from all perplexity and trouble, and shone with benevolence and loveliness, such as words cannot express.  He then made known to the angelic host that a way of escape had been made for lost man.  He told them that he had been pleading with his Father, and had offered to give his life a ransom, and take the sentence of death upon himself, that through him man might find pardon.  That through the merits of his blood, and obedience to the law of God, they could have the favor of God, and be brought into the beautiful garden, and eat of the fruit of the tree of life.

            At first the angels could not rejoice, for their commander concealed nothing from them, but opened before them the plan of salvation.  Jesus told them that he would stand between the wrath of his Father and guilty man, that he would bear iniquity and scorn, and but few would receive him as the Son of God.  Nearly all would hate and reject him.  He would leave all his glory in heaven, appear upon earth as a man, humble himself as a man, become acquainted by His own experience with the various temptations with which man would be beset, that he might know how to succor those who should be tempted; and that finally, after his mission as a teacher should be accomplished, he would be delivered into the hands of men, and endure almost every cruelty and suffering that Satan and his angels could inspire wicked men to inflict; that he should die the cruelest of deaths, hung up between the heavens and the earth as a guilty sinner; that he should suffer dreadful hours of agony, which even angels could not look upon, but would vail their faces from the sight.  Not merely agony of body would he suffer; but mental agony, that with which bodily suffering could in no wise be compared.  The weight of the sins of the whole world would be upon him.  He told them he would die and rise again the third day, and should ascend to his Father to intercede for wayward, guilty man.

            The angels prostrated themselves before him.  They offered their lives.  Jesus said to them that he should by his death save many; that the life of an angel could not pay the debt.  His life alone could be accepted of his Father as a ransom for man.

            Jesus also told them that they should have a part to act, to be with him, and at different times strengthen him.  That he should take man’s fallen nature, and his strength would not be even equal with theirs.  And they should be witnesses of his humiliation and great sufferings.  And as they should witness his sufferings, and the hate of men towards him, they would be stirred with the deepest emotions, and through their love for him, would wish to rescue, and deliver him from his murderers; but that they must not interfere to prevent anything they should behold; and that they should act a part in his resurrection; that the plan of salvation was devised, and his Father had accepted the plan.

            With a holy sadness, Jesus comforted and cheered the angels, and informed them that hereafter those whom he should redeem would be with him, and ever dwell with him; and that by his death he should ransom many, and destroy him who had the power of death.  And his Father would give him the kingdom, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, and he should possess it forever and ever.  Satan and sinners should be destroyed, never more to disturb heaven, or the purified, new earth. Jesus bid the heavenly host be reconciled to the plan that his Father accepted, and rejoice that fallen man could be exalted again through his death, to obtain favor with God and enjoy heaven.

            Then joy, inexpressible joy, filled heaven.  And the heavenly host sung a song of praise and adoration.  They touched their harps and sung a note higher than they had done before, for the great mercy and condescension of God in yielding up his dearly Beloved to die for a race of rebels.  Praise and adoration were poured forth for the self-denial and sacrifice of Jesus; that he would consent to leave the bosom of his Father, and choose a life of suffering and anguish, and die an ignominious death to give life to others.

            Said the angel, Think ye that the Father yielded up his dearly beloved Son without a struggle?  No, no.  It was even a struggle with the God of heaven, whether to let guilty man perish, or to give his beloved Son to die for them.  Angels were so interested for man’s salvation that there could be found among them those who would yield their glory, and give their life for perishing man.  But, said my accompanying angel, that would avail nothing.  The transgression was so great that an angel’s life would not pay the debt.  Nothing but the death and intercessions of his Son would pay the debt, and save lost man from hopeless sorrow and misery.

            But the work of the angels was assigned them, to ascend and descend with strengthening balm from glory to soothe the Son of God in his sufferings, and administer unto him.  Also, their work would be to guard and keep the subjects of grace from the evil angels, and the darkness constantly thrown around them by Satan.  I saw that it was impossible for God to alter or change his law, to save lost, perishing man; therefore he suffered his beloved Son to die for man’s transgression.

            Satan again rejoiced with his angels that he could, by causing man’s fall, pull down the Son of God from his exalted position.  He told his angels that when Jesus should take fallen man’s nature, he could overpower him, and hinder the accomplishment of the plan of salvation.

            I was then shown Satan as he was, a happy, exalted angel.  Then I was shown him as he now is.  He still bears a kingly form.  His features are still noble, for he is an angel fallen. But the expression of his countenance is full of anxiety, care, unhappiness, malice, hate, mischief, deceit, and every evil.  That brow which was once so noble, I particularly noticed.  His forehead commenced from his eyes to recede backward.  I saw that he had demeaned himself so long, that every good quality was debased, and every evil trait was developed.  His eyes were cunning, sly, and showed great penetration.  His frame was large, but the flesh hung loosely about his hands and face.  As I beheld him, his chin was resting upon his left hand.  He appeared to be in deep thought.  A smile was upon his countenance, which made me tremble, it was so full of evil, and Satanic slyness.  This smile is the one he wears just before he makes sure of his victim, and as he fastens the victim in his snare, this smile grows horrible.

The Great Controversy CHAPTER 2 The Fall of Man

I saw that the holy angels often visited the garden, and gave instruction to Adam and Eve concerning their employment, and also taught them concerning the rebellion of Satan and his fall.  The angels warned them of Satan, and cautioned them not to separate from each other in their employment, for they might be brought in contact with this fallen foe.  The angels enjoined upon them to closely follow the directions God had given them, for in perfect obedien

ce only were they safe.  And if they were obedient, this fallen foe could have no power over them.

            Satan commenced his work with Eve, to cause her to disobey.  She first erred in wandering from her husband, next, in lingering around the forbidden tree, and next in listening to the voice of the tempter, and even daring to doubt what God had said - In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  She thought, Perhaps it does not mean just as the Lord said.  She ventured to disobey.  She put forth her hand, took of the fruit, and ate.  It was pleasing to the eye, and pleasant to the taste.  She was jealous that God had withheld from them what was really for their good.  She offered the fruit to her husband, thereby tempting him.  She related to Adam all that the serpent had said, and expressed her astonishment that he had the power of speech.

            I saw a sadness came over Adam’s countenance.  He appeared afraid and astonished.  A struggle appeared to be going on in his mind.  He felt sure that this was the foe which they had been warned against, and that his wife must die.  They must be separated.  His love for Eve was strong.  And in utter discouragement he resolved to share her fate.  He seized the fruit, and quickly ate it.  Then Satan exulted.  He had rebelled in heaven, and had sympathizers who loved him, and followed him in his rebellion.  He fell, and caused others to fall with him.  And he had now tempted the woman to distrust God, to inquire into his wisdom, and to seek to penetrate his all-wise plans.  Satan knew the woman would not fall alone. Adam, through his love for Eve, disobeyed the command of God and fell with her.

            The news of man’s fall spread through heaven.  Every harp was hushed.  The angels cast their crowns from their heads in sorrow.  All heaven was in agitation.  A counsel was held to decide what must be done with the guilty pair.  The angels feared that they would put forth the hand, and eat of the tree of life, and be immortal sinners.  But God said that he would drive the transgressors from the garden.  Angels were commissioned immediately to guard the way of the tree of life.  It had been Satan’s studied plan that Adam and Eve should disobey God, receive his frown, and then be led on to partake of the tree of life, that they might live forever in sin and disobedience, and thus sin be immortalized.  But holy angels were sent to drive them out of the garden, while another company of angels were commissioned to guard the way to the tree of life.  Each of these mighty angels appeared to have something in their right hand, which looked like a glittering sword.

            Then Satan triumphed.  Others he had made to suffer by his fall.  He had been shut out of heaven, they out of Paradise.

Great Controversy CHAPTER 1 The Fall of Satan

The Lord has shown me that Satan was once an honored angel in heaven, next to Jesus Christ.  His countenance was mild, expressive of happiness like the other angels.  His forehead was high and broad, and showed great intelligence.  His form was perfect.  He had noble, majestic bearing.  And I saw that when God said to his Son, Let us make man in our image, Satan was jealous of Jesus.  He wished to be consulted concerning the formation of man.  He was filled with envy, jealousy and hatred.  He wished to be the highest in heaven, next to God, and receive the highest honors.  Until this time all heaven was in order, harmony and perfect subjection to the government of God.

It was the highest sin to rebel against the order and will of God.  All heaven seemed in commotion.  The angels were marshaled in companies with a commanding angel at their head.  All the angels were astir.  Satan was insinuating against the government of God, ambitious to exalt himself, and unwilling to submit to the authority of Jesus.  Some of the angels sympathized with Satan in his rebellion, and others strongly contended for the honor and wisdom of God in giving authority to his Son.  And there was contention with the angels.  Satan and his affected ones, who were striving to reform the government of God, wished to look into his unsearchable wisdom to ascertain his purpose in exalting Jesus, and endowing him with such unlimited power and command.  They rebelled against the authority of the Son of God, and all the angels were summoned to appear before the Father, to have their cases decided.  And it was decided that Satan should be expelled from heaven, and that the angels, all who joined with Satan in the rebellion, should be turned out with him.  Then there was war in heaven.  Angels were engaged in the battle; Satan wished to conquer the Son of God, and those who were submissive to his will.  But the good and true angels prevailed, and Satan, with his followers, was driven from heaven.

            After Satan was shut out of heaven, with those who fell with him, he realized that he had lost all the purity and glory of heaven forever.  Then he repented and wished to be reinstated again in heaven.  He was willing to take his proper place, or any place that might be assigned him.  But no, heaven must not be placed in jeopardy.  All heaven might be marred should he be taken back; for sin originated with him, and the seeds of rebellion were within him.  Satan had obtained followers, those who sympathized with him in his rebellion.  He and his followers repented, wept and implored to be taken back into the favor of God.  But no, their sin, their hate, their envy and jealousy, had been so great that God could not blot it out.  It must remain to receive its final punishment.

            When Satan became fully conscious that there was no possibility of his being brought again into favor with God, then his malice and hatred began to be manifest.  He consulted with his angels, and a plan was laid to still work against God's government.  When Adam and Eve were placed in the beautiful garden, Satan was laying plans to destroy them.  A consultation was held with his evil angels.  In no way could this happy couple be deprived of their happiness if they obeyed God.  Satan could not exercise his power upon them unless they should first disobey God, and forfeit his favor.  They must devise some plan to lead them to disobedience that they might incur God's frown and be brought under the more direct influence of Satan and his angels.  It was decided that Satan should assume another form, and manifest an interest for man.  He must insinuate against God's truthfulness, create doubt whether God did mean as he said, next, excite their curiosity, and lead them to pry into the unsearchable plans of God, which Satan had been guilty of, and reason as to the cause of his restrictions in regard to the tree of knowledge.

The Bible did declare Islam (the children of the East) would come into sharp focus in the closing moments of earth's history . But coming along with Islam is another threat,The New World Order mentioned in Revelation 17 and Revelation 16.

The Wild man in Bible known as the Children of the east or Islam will fulfill its Biblical role of bring all the nations under the earth  together.See Gen 16:12.

To deal with the Islamic problem all the nations of the earth will unite. For all the nations to Unite there must be some problem worldwide worthy enough get the attention of every democratic government.

Radical Islam has the attention of the whole earth at this time. If there is any country that has not their eyes on Islam then Islam has not yet reach that nation.

The bible shows all this in Rev 9 the Angel, star = Religious leader , his message is not one of righteousness,nor self-sacrificing love but one of radicalisation, its not based on truth but lies, The bible describe its doctrine that is its smoke coming up from the Bottomless pit as covering the sun and the air representative of righteousness and air (wind)= Holy Spirit (John 3:8). In other words Christianity is Eclipse,truth and love, the Gospel is obscure when this deadly doctrine is released upon a people .

What we are witnessing in the East, in Africa,will surely spread to all develop nations. And the world will seek to do what it did in the year 1840,and on 911,the world will seek again to restrain Islam.

Every man's hand will be against the sons of Ishmael the children if the east
while they do the work according to their name in Revelation 9:11 Abaddon and Apollyon which in the Greek and Hebrew means Destroyer). The same locust symbol used in Bible prophecy for Islam is used in the book of Joel chapters 1 and 2.  Before it is as Eden and behind it is as a wilderness in other words the locust leaves nothing standing alive . The Locust symbol that is used to describe Islam is all through revelation chapters 9.

Study all of Revelation 9 concerning Islam, Al shabab, Boco Haram and Al-quaeda. The world will see what we have been trying  to show it for so long that Islam will wage war on all the world and the whole world will unite. The One World Government, The New World order mention in Revelation 16 and 17 will come to life. It is this one world government lead out by the Beast power of Bible prophecy (the Papacy) that will rule the earth.

The progression of the time of the End.

On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify the owners and builders. Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. . . .

The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fire-proof buildings and said: "They are perfectly safe." But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.—Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, pp. 12, 13.

After being falsely quoted as saying that New York City would be destroyed by a tidal wave, Ellen White added this clarification, first written in August 1903:

But I have no light in particular in regard to what is coming on New York, only that I know that one day the great buildings there will be thrown down by the turning and overturning of God's power. From the light given me, I know that destruction is in the world. One word from the Lord, one touch of his mighty power, and these massive structures will fall. We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of Christ is near at hand. The days in which we live are solemn and important. The Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest magnitude.
The agencies of evil are combining their forces and consolidating. They are strengthening for the last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones.
The condition of things in the world shows that troublous times are right upon us. The daily papers are full of indications of a terrible conflict in the near future. Bold robberies are of frequent occurrence. Strikes are common. Thefts and murders are committed on every hand. Men possessed of demons are taking the lives of men, women, and little children. Men have become infatuated with vice, and every species of evil prevails.
The enemy has succeeded in perverting justice and in filling men's hearts with the desire for selfish gain. "Justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." Isaiah 59:14. In the great cities there are multitudes living in poverty and wretchedness, well-nigh destitute of food, shelter, and clothing; while in the same cities are those who have more than heart could wish, who live luxuriously, spending their money on richly furnished houses, on personal adornment, or worse still, upon the gratification of sensual appetites, upon liquor, tobacco, and other things that destroy the powers of the brain, unbalance the mind, and debase the soul. The cries of starving humanity are coming up before God, while by every species of oppression and extortion men are piling up colossal fortunes.
On one occasion, when in New York City, I was in the night season called upon to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify their owners and builders. Higher and still higher these buildings rose, and in them the most costly material was used. Those to whom these buildings belonged were not asking themselves: "How can we best glorify God?" The Lord was not in their thoughts.
I thought: "Oh, that those who are thus investing their means could see their course as God sees it! They are piling up magnificent buildings, but how foolish in the sight of the Ruler of the universe is their planning and devising. They are not studying with all the powers of heart and mind how they may glorify God. They have lost sight of this, the first duty of man."
As these lofty buildings went up, the owners rejoiced with ambitious pride that they had money to use in gratifying self and provoking the envy of their neighbors. Much of the money that they thus invested had been obtained through exaction, through grinding down the poor. They forgot that in heaven an account of every business transaction is kept; every unjust deal, every fraudulent act, is there recorded. The time is coming when in their fraud and insolence men will reach a point that the Lord will not permit them to pass, and they will learn that there is a limit to the forbearance of Jehovah.
The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at the lofty and supposedly fire-proof buildings and said: "They are perfectly safe." But these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.
I am instructed that when the Lord's time comes, should no change have taken place in the hearts of proud, ambitious human beings, men will find that the hand that had been strong to save will be strong to destroy. No earthly power can stay the hand of God. No material can be used in the erection of buildings that will preserve them from destruction when God's appointed time comes to send retribution on men for their disregard of His law and for their selfish ambition.
There are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are not able to solve the problem of moral corruption, poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis. If men would give more heed to the teaching of God's word, they would find a solution of the problems that perplex them.
The Scriptures describe the condition of the world just before Christ's second coming. Of the men who by robbery and extortion are amassing great riches, it is written: "Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you." James 5:3-6.
But who reads the warnings given by the fast-fulfilling signs of the times? What impression is made upon worldlings? What change is seen in their attitude? No more than was seen in the attitude of the inhabitants of the Noachian world. Absorbed in worldly business and pleasure, the antediluvians "knew not until the Flood came, and took them all away." Matthew 24:39. They had heaven-sent warnings, but they refused to listen. And today the world, utterly regardless of the warning voice of God, is hurrying on to eternal ruin.
The world is stirred with the spirit of war. The prophecy of the eleventh chapter of Daniel has nearly reached its complete fulfillment. Soon the scenes of trouble spoken of in the prophecies will take place.
"Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. . . . Because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate. . . . The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth." Isaiah 24:1-8.
"Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come. . . . The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down, for the corn is withered. How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate." "The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men." Joel 1:15-18, 12.
"I am pained at my very heart; . . . I cannot hold my peace, because thou has heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled." Jeremiah 4:19, 20.
"I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down." Verses 23-26.
"Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." Jeremiah 30:7.
Not all in this world have taken sides with the enemy against God. Not all have become disloyal. There are a faithful few who are true to God; for John writes: "Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:12. Soon the battle will be waged fiercely between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. Soon everything that can be shaken will be shaken, that those things that cannot be shaken may remain.
Satan is a diligent Bible student. He knows that his time is short, and he seeks at every point to counterwork the work of the Lord upon this earth. It is impossible to give any idea of the experience of the people of God who shall be alive upon the earth when celestial glory and a repetition of the persecutions of the past are blended. They will walk in the light proceeding from the throne of God. By means of the angels there will be constant communication between heaven and earth. And Satan, surrounded by evil angels, and claiming to be God, will work miracles of all kinds, to deceive, if possible, the very elect. God's people will not find their safety in working miracles, for Satan will counterfeit the miracles that will be wrought. God's tried and tested people will find their power in the sign spoken of in Exodus 31:12-18. They are to take their stand on the living word: "It is written." This is the only foundation upon which they can stand securely. Those who have broken their covenant with God will in that day be without God and without hope.
The worshipers of God will be especially distinguished by their regard for the fourth commandment, since this is the sign of God's creative power and the witness to His claim upon man's reverence and homage. The wicked will be distinguished by their efforts to tear down the Creator's memorial and to exalt the institution of Rome. In the issue of the conflict all Christendom will be divided into two great classes, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and those who worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark. Although church and state will unite their power to compel all, "both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond," to receive the mark of the beast, yet the people of God will not receive it. Revelation 13:16. The prophet of Patmos beholds "them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God," and singing the song of Moses and the Lamb. Revelation 15:2.
Fearful tests and trials await the people of God. The spirit of war is stirring the nations from one end of the earth to the other. But in the midst of the time of trouble that is coming,--a time of trouble such as has not been since there was a nation,--God's chosen people will stand unmoved. Satan and his host cannot destroy them, for angels that excel in strength will protect them.—Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 11-17.

Soon the four winds of heaven will be loosed, and in every part of the globe there will be dissension, strife, war, bloodshed. Satan is stirred with intensity from beneath. Winds are a symbol of strife. The four winds of heaven striving upon the great sea, represent the terrible scenes of conquest and revolution by which kingdoms have attained to power.

PRESIDENT Anthony Carmona (Trinidad and Tobago also a "Devoted Catholic ") is due to meet Pope Francis, head of the Roman Catholic Church, on a State visit to Vatican, Rome, Italy next week. Carmona is scheduled to leave for Rome next Thursday, July 4, and will have an audience with the Pope on Saturday, July 6. Newsday understands His Excellency was invited to meet the Pope when he was listed by the Vatican as being among the few Heads of State who are followers of the Catholic faith. Carmona will make the official visit with his wife, Reema. Newsday was unable to confirm whether their children, Christian, 11, and Anura, eight, will make the trip. Newsday has learned that Archbishop of Port-of-Spain Joseph Harris was last month notified by the Vatican of the invitation to Carmona to make the State visit. Carmona attends the Church of the Assumption, Maraval and St Theresa’s RC Church, Woodbrook. Efforts to contact officials of the Archdiocese in Port-of-Spain were unsuccessful but there are reports that the Catholic community in Port-of-Spain and Fyzabad, where Carmona grew up, are overjoyed by the Vatican’s invitation. It will be the Vatican’s first invitation to a Head of State in Trinidad and Tobago, to visit the Holy See. His Excellency will be afforded all of the protocols associated with a Head of State’s visit to the Vatican. Carmona’s cousin, Sister Antonette Fahay, principal of the Home for the Mentally Retarded in Vistabella, could not be reached last night for a comment, but a source said she was elated by the Vatican’s invitation. Coincidently, Carmona leaves for Italy on the day his father, Dennis Stephen Carmona celebrates his 88th birthday. Newsday was unable to ascertain the duration of Carmona’s visit and when he will return to the country. On Monday, Carmona appointed four commissioners to the Integrity Commission, and they are expected to be sworn in and issued their instruments of appointment before the President leaves for Rome. The controversy surrounding the commission’s chairman Kenneth Gordon meeting at his Glencoe home with Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley is ongoing with the Law Association, being the latest organisation to deem Gordon’s action as wrong and improper.

President Anthony Carmona spent five hours at the Vatican in Rome, Italy yesterday with his family.
Carmona left Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday night with his wife, Reema, his two children, his aide-de-camp, an assistant and a security officer.
They arrived in Rome and were officially received at the airport by Vatican officials and the Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to the Holy See Margaret Allison King-Rousseau.
A statement from the Apostolic Nunciature in St Clair yesterday said following the receiving ceremony, Carmona and his delegation were escorted by motorcades of Italian police to their hotel in Rome.
Carmona’s itinerary at the Vatican was precisely mapped out, so that at 10 a.m. he and his delegation, escorted by Italian police were accompanied at the border of the Italian and Vatican states (Saint Peter’s Square).
By 10.15 a.m. Vatican police were expected to escort Carmona and the delegation through Vatican City at the Courtyard San Damaso, where they were to receive the official honours by the Swiss Guard and other Vatican authorities.
At 11 a.m. President Carmona was introduced by His Excellency Msgr Gänswein to the Private Studio of Pope Francis for a private meeting, while the delegation stayed in the library with the Chief of Protocol and other Vatican officials.
Pope Francis and Carmona left the private studio of the Pope for the library where Carmona would have presented the members of his family and the delegation to Pope Francis.
Following which there would have been an exchange of gifts.
Carmona and his delegation were expected to return to Vatican City at 2.30 p.m. led by a protocol official to visit the Sistine Chapel, which is a selected section of the Vatican Museum (Raphael’s Rooms) and Saint Peter’s Basilica.

The delegation was scheduled to leave Vatican City at approximately 4 p.m. through the Vatican Gardens.

Only President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II were present in the Vatican Library on Monday, June 7, 1982. It was the first time the two had met, and they talked for 50 minutes. In the same wing of the papal apartments, Agostino Cardinal Casaroli and Archbishop Achille Silvestrini met with Secretary of State Alexander Haig and Judge William Clark, Reagan's National Security Adviser. Most of their discussion focused on Israel's invasion of Lebanon, then in its second day; Haig told them Prime Minister Menachem Begin had assured him that the invasion would not go farther than 25 miles inside Lebanon.

But Reagan and the Pope spent only a few minutes reviewing events in the Middle East. Instead they remained focused on a subject much closer to their heart: Poland and the Soviet dominance of Eastern Europe. In that meeting, Reagan and the Pope agreed to undertake a clandestine campaign to hasten the dissolution of the communist empire. Declares Richard Allen, Reagan's first National Security Adviser: "This was one of the great secret alliances of all time."

The operation was focused on Poland, the most populous of the Soviet satellites in Eastern Europe and the birthplace of John Paul II. Both the Pope and the President were convinced that Poland could be broken out of the Soviet orbit if the Vatican and the U.S. committed their resources to destabilizing the Polish government and keeping the outlawed Solidarity movement alive after the declaration of martial law in 1981.

Until Solidarity's legal status was restored in 1989 it flourished underground, supplied, nurtured and advised largely by the network established under the auspices of Reagan and John Paul II. Tons of equipment -- fax machines (the first in Poland), printing presses, transmitters, telephones, shortwave radios, video cameras, photocopiers, telex machines, computers, word processors -- were smuggled into Poland via channels established by priests and American agents and representatives of the AFL-CIO and European labor movements. Money for the banned union came from CIA funds, the National Endowment for Democracy, secret accounts in the Vatican and Western trade unions.

Lech Walesa and other leaders of Solidarity received strategic advice -- often conveyed by priests or American and European labor experts working undercover in Poland -- that reflected the thinking of the Vatican and the Reagan Administration. As the effectiveness of the resistance grew, the stream of information to the West about the internal decisions of the Polish government and the contents of Warsaw's communications with Moscow became a flood. The details came not only from priests but also from spies within the Polish government.

Pope Francis Shows His True Colors

In the sixteenth century, the Reformation, through its emphasis on the ultimate authority of the Bible and the Gospel of grace, began to dislodge the Papacy from its position as co-ruler of the Holy Roman Empire.  The truth of Scripture and the Gospel gave men and women the knowledge and courage to stand up against the Inquisition, a system of tortures by which the Papacy had enforced submission to papal dogma.  This enforced submission had given the Papacy the power to wield tremendous influence with the emperor and among the kings of the empire.  Thus Ignatius of Loyola, a contemporary of Martin Luther, founded the Jesuits in 1530 for the very purpose of defending the Papacy from further loss of its power base.  The Jesuits’ objective has always been to increase the temporal power of the Papacy to align with the Roman Catholic dogma that the Pope has the right to judge, “the highest civil office in a state.”[1]  However, since the demise of the Holy Roman Empire in the late eighteenth century, the Papacy has had no civil authority by which to enforce obedience to its moral rulings.

It is a well-established fact that the Jesuits throughout their history have caused many serious disturbances by their nefarious schemes within the civil governments of many countries.  Over the centuries, they have justifiably earned their reputation as troublemakers to the extent that they were denied residence in some nations for varying periods of time.  Nevertheless, their objective of increasing Papal religious and civil power beyond its previous height remains unchanged.  Therefore, in order to move forward the Papacy’s drive for power in the current religious and civil arenas, this Jesuit Pope must efface the historic image of the Jesuit Order.

Once Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected, he chose the name Pope Francis in honor of St Francis of Assisi.  St Francis, known to be a softhearted lover of nature, was also known for his humility and gentleness.  Thus, in building an image or persona for himself in the public eye, Pope Francis has shrewdly implied that he would be similarly unassuming, kind, and harmless.  Since there has never been a pope named Francis, the name carries with it no papal baggage.  Immediately following Pope Francis’s election, the media made much of his unassuming nature by showing him paying his own hotel bill for his stay during the enclave.  This was followed with news that he was not going to take up residence in the Vatican’s usual papal apartments, but instead would take a smaller, more humble suite, ostensibly to live a “normal” life in touch with the laity by being visibly among them.[2]  Further, he graciously welcomed back into the Vatican the previous pope, Benedict XVI, who under rumors of unpleasant circumstances, had abruptly resigned.  Was this not the modern St Francis, kindly restoring to the aged and ailing Benedict some remnant of the honor that had so suddenly departed him?  The steady stream of these and other similar public appearances continues to craft the optics into an image for the new pope that is the anti-type of the traditional Jesuit.   

Catholic Dogma Underlying Pope Francis’s Inaugural Address

However, in the very first sentence of his inaugural address on March 19, 2013, Pope Francis presented a feature very different from the persona being carefully groomed by the optics.  Indeed, even as out of the heart the mouth speaks, so the new Jesuit Pope began to display audibly his genuine image.  While thousands of people were crammed into Saint Peter’s Square, and millions across the world listened by television and radio, the new pope stated, “Dear Brothers and Sisters, I thank the Lord that I can celebrate this Holy Mass for the inauguration of my Petrine ministry...”[3]  Francis knew the claimed power that is embedded in the term, “Petrine ministry.”  As the official Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “…the Roman Pontiff, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, namely, and as pastor of the entire Church, has full, supreme and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered.”[4]  It is highly significant that Pope Francis began his speech by thanking the Lord that he could celebrate Mass for the inauguration of what he said was “my Petrine ministry.”  His opening sentence shows where his heart is; namely, in himself, in his position, and the power entailed in such a position.  It is this particular idea, i.e., that the Pope is the Apostle Peter’s successor, which has been the undergirding authority for the Papacy’s identity in the world since the time of Pope Gregory VII in the eleventh century.  The nature, indeed, the very identity of the Office of the Papacy of the Roman Catholic Church is at stake.  Thus, the Papacy will concede nothing regarding this claim but rather use it to establish itself as the stable institution in the midst of current tumultuous times.

Accordingly, using this supposition, Pope Francis’s inaugural homily was a masterpiece in showing his Jesuitical disposition.  He opened by saying, “I thank the Lord that I can celebrate this Holy Mass for the inauguration of my Petrine ministry on the solemnity of Saint Joseph…”  He then stated that God called Joseph—

“to be the custos, the protector.  The protector of whom?  Of Mary and Jesus; but this protection is then extended to the Church… How does Joseph exercise his role as protector?  Discreetly, humbly and silently, but with an unfailing presence and utter fidelity…”[5]

These are carefully chosen words meant to evoke a certain frame of mind in the listener.  He then makes application:

“Let us protect Christ in our lives, so that we can protect others, so that we can protect creation!  The vocation of being a “protector,” however, is not just something involving us Christians alone; it also has a prior dimension which is simply human, involving everyone.”

At this point, Francis has introduced major Catholic social doctrine under the guise of “protection;” that it is everybody’s job, not just the Christians’ job, to protect everybody; and also (though not stated here), all goods because all possessions in the creation belong to everyone.[6]  In Catholic social doctrine, everyone, even those who are not Roman Catholic, must fulfill his duty to others as the Roman Catholic Church defines that duty; and this is one of the things to which Pope Francis is referring when he states that there is a “prior dimension” to his idea of protection.[7]  Thus he says,

“Please, I would like to ask all those who have positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of goodwill: let us be “protectors” of creation, protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of one another and of the environment…” 

He also states that protection is required because in every age “there are ‘Herods’ who plot death, wreak havoc, and mar the countenance of men and women.”  He does not define the lurking “Herods” more closely; but he does define what he thinks needs protecting.  It is this: 

“To protect Jesus with Mary, to protect the whole of creation, to protect each person, especially the poorest, to protect ourselves: this is a service that the Bishop of Rome is called to carry out.…” 

Clearly Pope Francis does not understand that the glorified Jesus Christ, the “only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords”[8] needs no protection!  Then he ignores the biblical commandment not pray to the dead as he closes his homily by praying, “I implore the intercession of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, Saints Peter and Paul, and Saint Francis, that the Holy Spirit may accompany my ministry…”  He has not prayed to Almighty God through Jesus Christ; rather, he has totally disobeyed the Lord God’s commandment in calling on dead saints.[9]   Clearly, Pope Francis does not have any biblical understanding of who the Lord Jesus Christ is nor how He fulfills His role as Head of the Church.[10]

Notice the position to which the Lord Jesus Christ has been relegated in all this.  Rather, by weaving together the choice of papal name with the theme of protection as his opening homily, Pope Francis has made it clear that he intends to protect the Papacy and its social objectives during his term of office.[11]  The fact that he has said it in gentle terms, by calling on the images of Francis of Assisi and Joseph, Mary’s husband, does not make it any less lethal. 

            Thus, it was on day of his inaugural address that Pope Francis began his Pontificate with the mark of a true Jesuit, i.e., primarily defending the Papacy against the Gospel and biblical truth at all costs.  With the very opening of his pontificate, the true image of Francis was brought forth into the light of day by his own words, showing him not as humble and harmless, but as proudly dogmatic and utterly opposed to biblical truth.

The Pope’s Objective Regarding Pagan Religions and Evangelicals

Further, on March 20, 2013, Pope Francis addressed religious leaders across the world.  Among other matters, Francis stated,

“…It is a cause for particular joy to meet today with you, delegates of the Orthodox churches, the Oriental Orthodox churches and ecclesial communities of the West...Together with you I cannot forget how much that Council has meant for the road of ecumenism...For my part, I wish to assure you…of my determination to continue on the path of ecumenical dialogue.  I ask you, dear brothers and sisters, to bring my cordial greeting and the assurance of my remembrance in the Lord Jesus to the churches and Christian communities here represented...  I then greet and cordially thank you all, dear friends belonging to other religious traditions; first of all the Muslims, who worship the one God, living and merciful, and call upon Him in prayer, and all of you.  I really appreciate your presence: in it I see a tangible sign of the will to grow in mutual esteem and cooperation for the common good of humanity.”[12]  

From these remarks, Pope Francis has demonstrated effectively that he will not protect the truth of the Scripture and the Gospel of grace.  He does not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible alone.  It is a well-known fact that Allah, who the Muslims worship, is not the God of the Bible.  Since Pope Francis must know this, his remarks point to his ecumenical objective, a goal to be accomplished by high-powered flattery and false ecumenical dialogue. 

The Pope’s Objective Regarding Nations and Governments

Moreover, two days later on March 22, 2013, Pope Francis spoke to a group of diplomats representing governments that have a relationship to the Vatican.  His speech began with these words:

“Dear Ambassadors, Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you again for all the work that you do, alongside the Secretariat of State, to build peace and construct bridges of friendship and fraternity. Through you, I would like to renew to your Governments my thanks for their participation in the celebrations on the occasion of my election, and my heartfelt desire for a fruitful common endeavour.  May Almighty God pour out his gifts on each one of you, on your families and on the peoples that you represent.  Thank you!”[13]

In his address, Pope Francis emphasized the fact that the Pope is known as the “pontiff,” or “a builder of bridges,” and stated, “In this work [with governments], the role of religion is fundamental.”  While few people realize it, the Pope claims the right to judge those who hold highest civil office in a state.  This blending of things civil and religious has been the papal method of operation throughout the centuries.  At the present time, the Roman Church seeks to implement her socialist ideas by using her power as a religious system working through her own status as a civil state.  As a religious system, she is able to command a “fifth column” within many nations.[14]  By her influence as a civil power, Papal Rome is also able to substantially influence civil rulers and civil policy in many nations and international bodies.  The Church of Rome has 179 legal agreements with nations across the world.  These “concordats,” as they are called, guarantee that the Catholic Church has the right to define religion and worship for Catholics within that sovereign nation.  They also secure for the Vatican the right to define doctrine, establish Catholic education, and negotiate laws regarding property, appointing bishops, and Catholic laws of marriage and annulments. 

The Republic of Argentina has had a legal agreement with the Church of Rome since 1957.  Thus, as Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio in Argentina, he would have known well the benefit that the legal agreement meant to the Roman Church. 

In addressing the diplomats from governments that have a relationship to the Vatican, Pope Francis knew just how important it is to woo civil governments into legal liaison with Papal Rome.  Thus, the new Pope continues the Vatican’s civil/legal relationships with nations across the world in its endeavor to move civil governments to implement its global socialist agenda.

Mother Church Presumed to Bestow Faith and Morality

On April 23, 2013, less affable facets of the namesake of St Francis surfaced again.  In Pope Francis’s sermon for Mass that day, he stated explicitly,

“The reading today makes me think that the missionary expansion of the Church began precisely at a time of persecution, and these Christians went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, and proclaimed the Word. They had this apostolic fervor within them, and that is how the faith spread!...But some in Jerusalem, when they heard this, became nervous and sent Barnabas...he saw that things were going well. And so the Church was a Mother, the Mother of more children, of many children.  It became more and more of a Mother.  A Mother who gives us the faith, a Mother who gives us an identity.  But the Christian identity is not an identity card: Christian identity is belonging to the Church, because all of these belonged to the Church, the Mother Church.  Because it is not possible to find Jesus outside the Church....And the Mother Church that gives us Jesus gives us our identity that is not only a seal, it is a belonging.  Identity means belonging… Think of this Mother Church that grows, grows with new children to whom She gives the identity of the faith, because you cannot believe in Jesus without the Church...And let us ask the Lord for this ‘parresia’, this apostolic fervor that impels us to move forward, as brothers, all of us forward!”[15]

Pope Francis’s premise is that one’s identity as a Christian can come only through faith in “Mother Church,” which secondarily also gives them “Jesus.”  In fact, he is teaching official Catholic dogma which states,

“Believing is an ecclesial act.  The Church’s faith precedes, engenders, supports and nourishes our faith.  The Church is the mother of all believers.  ‘No one can have God as Father who does not have the Church as Mother.’”[16] 

These statements are a serious affront to those who recognize them for the falsehoods that they are.  Undoubtedly Pope Francis believes what he has stated.  However, his teaching reflects an old but clever argument aimed at those who do not know their Bibles.  Pope Francis and his Church refuse to believe in the authority of the Bible alone; therefore, they fail to believe that faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone is a gift given by the Lord God Himself through the Holy Spirit, and not by any church.  The object of faith is the Person of Christ Jesus, as Scripture states, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved ...”[17]  This faith is God-given, as declared in Scripture by the Apostle Peter, “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”[18]  Furthermore, this God-given faith comes by hearing the Word of God as is stated, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”[19]  Nevertheless, Pope Francis stated, “The Mother Church that gives us Jesus gives us our identity.”  This is traditional Roman Catholic Church teaching.[20]  Thus it is that the Papal Church itself is presented as the only instrumental way of approaching God and of finding salvation. Clearly  To look to a church as the means of conveying Jesus to people rather than looking to Jesus Himself, “the author and finisher of our faith [21] is “another gospel.”  The Lord explicitly declared, “no man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him”[22] and “this is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”[23]  Consequently, Pope Francis’s statement that “Mother Church that gives us Jesus gives us our identity” is scripturally speaking, “accursed” as stated by the Apostle Paul, “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” [24]

                       

Conclusion

Pope Francis is both clever and deceitful as he protects his Church against the Scriptures and the Gospel of grace.  He is moving forward with the centuries old papal objective of ruling the world as Vicar of Christ.  Therefore, he continues to set before the world an optical persona of humility and harmlessness while the words from his mouth delineate him as dogmatic and destructive.  In opposition to the Gospel of salvation, Pope Francis talks about salvation gained by trusting in “Mother Church.”  Thus, he presents to the world a so-called spiritual apparatus for the salvation of men that, according to Scripture, neither saves nor sanctifies anyone.  The system over which he presides professes to have all that a church ought to have; yet, it imposes upon people the horrendous deceits documented in this article, which fraudulence the Apostle called, “all-deceivableness of unrighteousness.”[25]

The Lord Jesus Christ prayed emphatically the night before He died.  His prayer is answered in the life of every believer who is justified by God’s saving grace alone.  God’s grace is received through faith alone, and the object of that faith is Christ alone.  Christ Jesus prayed, “that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”[26]  The Lord knew very well those for whom He prayed.  The objects of His prayer were clear to Him.  These believers embrace eternal life as the Holy Spirit regenerates them.  Thus, the foundation for true saving faith is utterly of God.  Those for whom the Lord prayed are “born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”[27]  It is only by the absolute grace of God that you receive the gift of eternal life.  There is, nevertheless, the correlation between your inheritance, the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus, and your duty, which is to obey God.  The greater the gift, the greater is the obligation to express our gratitude in a suitable and becoming manner.  Thus the Word of God instructs us, “whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”[28] 

The same truth has a grave warning for Pope Francis and all those who believe in the traditions and sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church rather than directly believing on the Lord Himself by the authority of His written Word.  God is the same just and righteous God under the Gospel as He was under the Law in the Old Testament.  He deals with us in love and grace; yet, He in Himself remains “a consuming fire.”[29]  He is the God of strict justice who will avenge Himself on all who have not received the love of the truth, but rather look to a church or some person other than the Lord Jesus Christ alone for life.  The Lord Jesus Christ has lived the perfect life and, willingly of His own volition, has made the faultless, propitiatory sacrifice for sin.  To refuse to believe in Him alone is a critical offense.  When the Lord Jesus dealt with the sincere and devout Pharisees, He gave them a very strong word, “I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”[30]  You may say that you are a good Catholic and that you want to please God in this present life and hope to live with Him forever; that is a noble goal.  You may be as sincere and devout as the Pharisees, but like them, if you personally neglect to believe on Him alone for your salvation, you likewise will die in your sins.

Distinct faith and trust on the Lord Jesus Christ alone is essential and frequently highlighted in Scripture.  “He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life.”[31]  “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:  he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.”[32]  Thus, it is that you must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, who gives life now, and forever!  This is the living way, the only way to eternal life.  It is spiritual death to attempt to come to God through a so-called “Mother Church.”  The way to the Eternal Father is through the Lord Jesus Christ alone; His death is for us the way to true, eternal life.  Those who receive this eternal life given by Christ are not only redeemed from the empire of death, but they also live and reign with Him as they are sanctified daily through His Word by the Holy Spirit, and by constant fellowship with Him.  Thus, in our beloved Savior, we joyfully praise Him, our everlasting Father, “How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.  They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.  For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.”[33]  ♦
