Repercussion of the Greatest Crime (Unbelief)

I was doing some research for the topic unbelief for a presentation and i would like to share some important points .
I found this Scripture which it describe the most heinous act a man / woman can commit.

It all happened because of not trusting and following God's law.
If you think that the the world is evil now .. read this and see what we human beings could become under tremendous pressure.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 28:56-58

56The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter, 57And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates. 58If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

Repercussions:

In the city of Samaria there was one righteous man—Elisha, the servant of the Lord. Jehoram the king was a sinner of the blackest dye, his iniquity was glaring and infamous. They the people of Samaria remembered not the watchword of Jacob, "The Lord thy God is one God;" and in wicked idolatry they bowed before the idols of the heathens, and therefore the Lord of Hosts suffered their enemies to oppress them until the curse of Ebal was fulfilled in the streets. And so Deut 28:56-58 above showed us the bitter end of those who forsake God.

In this awful extremity the one holy man Elisha was the medium of salvation. The one grain of salt preserved the entire city. They knew him to be a prophet of the Lord; he had divine credentials; all his past prophecies had been fulfilled. They knew that he was a man sent of God. the emaciated multitude would leap for joy at the prospects of so speedy a release from famine. "To-morrow," would they shout, "to-morrow our hunger shall be over, and we shall feast to the full."

However Jehoram the king drunken with pagan worship commit the follow of all follies.He express his disbelief,his words: 2 kings 7 :19 And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

He doubted the ONE TRUE GOD who had made himself known Clearly in the past. via all his providential works.

DO WE NOT DO THE SAME TODAY ?

Whereupon God pronounced his doom by the mouth of the prophet (messenger) who had just now proclaimed the promise: "thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

The modern day Atheism:

The most hideous of all is the traitor, in its true colors, blaspheming God, and madly denying his existence. atheism , deism and Infidelity, are the ripe fruits of this malicious tree.

2.Secondly; unbelief not only begets, but fosters sin.

While God spoke to Moses at Sinai the people who witness the f lashings of lightning and the sounds or thunder,beneath the shadow of all this rumbustious activity still find courage to commit open sin in the form of idolatry. how is it that when the sinner hears the tremendous threatenings of God's justice, still he is hardened, and walks on in his evil ways

3. But there is a third point. Unbelief disables a man for the performance of any good work. "Whatsoever is not of faith is sin," is a great truth in more senses than one. "Without faith it is impossible to please God. Case in piont is the apostles who could only cast out demons if they had the faith .Mark 9:29 And He said to them, "This kind cannot come out but by praying and fasting KJV

Note that the NIV NASB and all other versions omit fasting

Faith fosters every virtue; unbelief murders every one. Thousands of prayers have been strangled in their infancy by unbelief. Unbelief has been guilty of infanticide; it has murdered many an infant petition; many a song of praise that would have swelled the chorus of the skies, has been stifled by an unbelieving murmur.

4 My next observation is unbelief has been severely punished:
unbelief kept Moses and Aaron out of Canaan? They honored not God; they struck the rock when they ought to have spoken to it. They disbelieved: and therefore the punishment came upon them, that they should not inherit that good land, for which they had toiled and labored.
Other examples

Noah and family saved but the other inhabitants of the earth died (lost).

Lots wife.
the Original generations of Israel that was saved from the bondage many were lost and never saw the promise land.
The current Palestinian Israeli conflict. Abraham and sarah didnt trust God to give them a son in old age

And many more

Finally The culmination of all unbelief is that many will be lost.
Many would not see the of the one who came to redeem humankind
simply because they refuse to believe.
